Why I've been Away

As promised, here is my explination for roaming around in the shadows lately:

For the past several days I've been occupied with final assignments for my classes since we are reaching the end of the semester. Out of the ones I had the one that took up the bulk of my time was an assignment for a computer course I take that required fiddling around with MS PowerPoint. Luckily, we got to choose what topic the PowerPoint was going to be over so I ended up having a lot of fun with it. ^_~

I've been really tempted to post it up here on theO for y'all to see, but I don't know if anyone would be interested in what I dug up for the project. So here's what I'm gonna do: I'll post up the introduction of the project on this post, complete with a few extra notes at the end. If you like what you see and want to learn a bit more, then give me a comment and I'll put up the rest of what I have. (I will warn you: the first batch of notes are more of tidbits about Walt Disney himself than anything else.)

Beginning Notes (to clear a few things up):

  • In an interview with the Sherman Brothers--the same men responsible for the musical score for Mary Poppins and others back in the 60's--it was revealed that Walt Disney didn't like to called "Mr. Disney" by one of his secretaries. He preferred just being called "Walt."
  • Walt, in his lifetime, was indeed a perfectionist. (If there was a piece of work that "wasn't up to his standards" he would literally tear it up in front of the artist who drew it.) Because of that aspect of his nature he was rarely known for giving out praise.

I speak from personal experience as both the giver and reciever when I say this: just because they don't immediately show it, it doesn't mean that you're doing a bad job. Truth of the matter is that those type of people get so caught up in touching up each and every detail that they forget to comment on the good things that happen in the production of it.

Again, let me know what you think. Later!
