One of the most direct ways you can help is through the Occupy Sandy Amazon.com registry. Buy any of the items on the list and they'll be sent directly to relief outposts.
I'm sure a lot of you have probably heard the Red Cross donation pleas by now. If you're considering donating at all, one of the most convenient ways to do so is to text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 (which will be charged to your phone bill). Here's a list of other text donations you can make.
If you buy the following merchandise, 100% of proceeds go to Red Cross/other relief services: David Shannon's Till I Hear You Sing on iTunes, the I Still Love NY t-shirt, and The7Line uNitY t-shirt.
Lastly, donating clothing and other goods to your local Salvation Army helps fund the organization's disaster relief services.
