Ha! Hour this time >3

ONWARDS! I dont care that I spell things wrong Google!!!!

Renen leaned his bike on a thick oak tree on the edge of the forest, then walked in. It immediately got darker, the trees clouding out sounds from the carnival and blocking Renen's view when he turned around to look. The woods hadn't seemed so dark on the outside...

He felt like the trees were closing in on him, their branches grabbing like little hands, weak but many. Rustling in the leaves above him made him glance up nervously. What was wrong with him? He shook his head, trying to clear the thoughts that were building up inside. A thinning of branches ahead made him speed up to reach it, and upon stepping out Renen found himself in a perfectly circular clearing, no larger than one of the merri-go-rounds at children's playgrounds.

"Look whoooo's come..." murmured a voice to his right, Renen looked towards it but saw nothing.

"A huuman?" said one to his left, causing him to look that way.

"A nervous one-" replied the one on the right, sounded slightly amused.

"I think" finished the left voice, also amused.

"Welcome to the land" right

"of Fairy Tales" left

"Young human,"

"We do hope"

"You enjoy your stay" they sounded mocking now, like they knew what was going to happen to Renen.

"Prince Fukuro," said the left formally, an arm gesturing to the other side of the clearing from inside one of the thickly leafed trees.

"And Princess Kiiro" said right, Prince Fukuro, and he gestured to the left from inside a tree as well.

"You aren't frightened, are you, human?" Princess Kiiro said softly, evidently mocking him to her enjoyment.

"No I'm not, and I'd like you two to show yourselves." Renen stated, but he was scared, they had human arms but sounded more like birds than people, their soft cooing voices were strange, haunting.

Right laughed, making Renen shiver. "Oh you're bold aren't you?" Prince Fukuro joked, "wanting to see us."

"Ahh yes, bold indeed, upon hearing our welcome most humans run away, back from where you came." mulled the left

"But they never make it back" Fukuro almost sounded sad

"Oh no they don't" Kiiro agreed, "the trees gladly take them."

"The be lost forever"

"And sorely missed, I suppose"

"Not even their screams make it back"

"The trees muffle those well, though it would be nice-"

"If we didn't have to hear them." finished Fukuro sourly, their tones of voice kept changing.

Leaves rustled on both sides of Renen and two figures dropped down from trees on opposite ends of the clearing, he looked from one to the other and back, his fear building. There was a boy on the right, Fukuro, with gray feathers sticking out from his shoulder blades, large reddish eyes and tufts of hair or feathers over his non-existing ears. On the left, a girl in a long sleeveless shirt of pale gray, just a little darker than the boy's white shirt, and tight blue pants, also a shade darker than Fukuro's. Her hair, black at the tips, changed into pale blue, a shade darker as well, than the boys gray-to-ice-blue hair. She had the feather-hair tufts as well, and feathers too, though hers were black instead of gray.

Fukuro cocked his head a little and stepped towards Renen, who in turn stepped back. Another step towards, and another step back until Fukuro smiled faintly, reached out and tapped Renen's forehead, so he stumbled backwards into Kiiro, who caught his arms and held them firmly. Now Fukuro's smile broadened, "You think we're going to kill you, correct?" he asked sweetly.

Renen blinked, unsure of how to answer. He did think they were going to, but he dared not say that out loud for fear it might anger them. He had noticed that Kiiro's grip was strong, and felt that she could easily crush the bones in his arms if she so wanted. Despite himself, he struggled.

Kiiro leaned her head forward and breathed "We don't plan on killing you, human, but our plans can change if you wish." into his ear, Renen ceased moving.

"Princess Kiiro, I think he's had quite enough, he is our guest after all, lets treat him well while he's...here." Fukuro nodded to Kiiro, who let go of Renen's arms. He was still caught between the two of them though, then Fukuro backed up allowing Renen to step away from Kiiro and glance back at her nervously. She smiled in response.

Reaching into a small pack at his hip, Fukuro pulled out a strip of pale blue-ish, stuff, sat down on the ground and started chewing on the blue thing happily. Kiiro sat next to him and beckoned Renen to join them. He sat across from the two of them, who both were chewing on the blue stuff. Fukuro swalloed his and offered a smaller piece of another strip to Renen, who took it tentatively.

Chewing on it, Renen thought it was like salty tea, but solid. And very salty. He glanced up at the two across from him, Fukuro was watching him. "Do you like it?" he asked. Renen nodded slowly, "It's salty..." he said and Fukuro laughed. "Of course it's salty" he said merrily, "That's jellyfish!"

Renen nearly gagged. He stared down wide eyed at the strip of jellyfish, disgusted. Fukuro looked at him nervously "Are you alright? It isn't poisonous."

"Oh no" Renen coughed, "I'm fine, I just never expected to eat...jellyfish"

Both laughed, but Renen didn't understand how what he said had been funny.
