Advance

Quick post to inform.

I will be leaving early Sunday afternoon for Nashville. Once there I will stay overnight at the same hotel I stayed at when I first went to MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) back in March. Monday morning I expect I'll be shuttled back to MEPS, possibly for another brief medical go-round, definitely to resign my contract (officially altering my enlistment pay grade to E-3), and finally to board the shuttle for Great Lakes, Illinois.

Been up at the recruiting office for most of the afternoon, went to bed pretty early because, hey, these last two days of work are the friggin'-early shifts. Haven't had a chance to catch up on the information presented to me in the meanwhile; I plan on doing that later this afternoon, possibly after a good nap. However, I feel it should be noted that the simple fact that I now have at least have -something- waiting for me (and the slightly more complex fact that I am more aware of at least one particular I lacked earlier) means I am far less liable to just up and become pissed off at everybody, on sheer general principle.

Now I'm not liable to become pissed off at much of anybody, a state which I greatly prefer. Thus is the benefit of being not simply open, but forthright about a nasty situation: context changes everything. And so I can add a double meaning to my title.

Before this particular situation erupted-without-erupting, I was privy to certain sensitive information. Therefore I have must (and do) consider myself decidedly involved. At present, I choose to remain involved, and I will remain so until I am satisfied I have done what I can to assuage the ambiguous Things. (The preceding line will probably scare poor dear Raina half to death, but she needn't worry.)

Now I shall hustle off to work. Far from being late, but I think writing this post will make me a touch less early than I'd like to be, given the prep-work I prefer to try to have done before four in the morning.

Also randomly been working on an essay, sort of an OpEd, if you'll pardon the jargon. Hope to have that finished, among other needed typed material, quite shortly.
