What it is is a post about hilarity that happened during a bit of Guild Wars. So I feel justified in posting about it.
I think I've mentioned before that typically when I slot into pick-up groups, apart from the initial pre-mission data exchange—monks pinging bars, various checks on stuff—nothing is said by anyone. The effect is that pugging feels no different, really, than grabbing a full party of AI and going it alone, except that all the other party members are miraculously competent (usually). But now and again I get a random group where people are not only talking, but cutting up. I really enjoy these.
For instance, today the Mission Of The Day (essentially) involved taking a specific AI character as a party member, which I always hate because it limits the party's effectiveness most of the time. This one happens to be a centaur named Zhed Shadowhoof, and there's an area near the mission's final bosses where, if you go near it too soon, Zhed will start shouting this.
Zhed Shadowhoof: We are not yet ready to storm the garrison. Centaur holding cells remain locked, and the numbers are still on the side of the Kournans. Free all of my brethren. Only then will we stand a chance against the garrison guards.
This isn't usually an issue. But today, for some bizarre reason, his AI started spamming the team chat with it. Like, literally four-to-six times a second this was activating. Everyone in the party was going "wtf" essentially:

And apparently that was enough of an icebreaker to get at least a couple of us cutting up.
