The Test:

Continued From: Back... Again:

Weeks had passed and again Kita followed Ulquiorra through the halls of Las Noches. She asked no questions in where they were going or what they were going to be doing. She just followed diligently behind her master the palm of her her left hand resting to her hilt. When they finally halted in their walk, she found them in the throne room. In front of them stood Lord Aizen and Lord Tousen. Both Ulquiorra and Kita bowed to them. Kita to one knee with her head lowered behind and off to her master's side and Ulquiorra lowering his head then looking to Lord Aizen.

“Your request, Lord Aizen: Kita.”

Kita remained silent still in her bow as she heard her master speak and Lord Aizen reply.

“Very good.”

She heard footsteps coming her way and a soft hand descended on her shoulder as someone knelt down in front of her.

“Rise, Kita.”

The soft spoken voice belonged to Lord Tousen. Kita raised her head to see him standing once more as he offered his hand to her. Kita placed her hand in his and started to stand, but in an instant she sprung back drawing her sword blocking Lord Tousen’s attack on her. The sound of their swords colliding rang out through the throne room.

“You have trained her well, Ulquiorra.” Tousen said still pushing against Kita’s block.

Ulquiorra gave a side glance to Tousen. “You thought different? She is the fraccion of the Fourth. Perfection is the only standard.”

Tousen then spoke to Kita. “Are you ready to fight me?”

Kita nodded. “I will fight you and anyone that steps up to offer me a challenge.”

Tousen gave a small smile. “You sound like Nnoitra, but are you as bloodthirsty as the Fifth?”

Kita pushed against Tousen’s attack pushing him back a couple of steps. “Forgive my rudeness my lord, but it is not blood I seek in a fight. It is not a conversation either.”

She took her stance and watched Tousen’s closely, so closely she could have counted how many breaths he took before renewing his attacks. Tousen’s attack put Kita on the defence.

“So what do you seek in a fight, Kita?” Tousen asked her.

Slowly he pushed her back getting her ever so close to the wall. It took a bit, but Kita finally found an opening and when she did she turned the fight in her favor.

“I seek strength and to define my abilities.”

“And what will you use this strength and your abilities for?” Kita heard Lord Aizen croon. His voice flowed over her and rebounded off the walls of his throne room.

Her eyes stayed sharp on Tousen as they fought. The sound of their blades echoed and cried out in the throne room.

“To fight for Lord Aizen in his efforts to destroy Soul Society and achieve his goal in destroying the Soul King as well.”

Kita then quickly jumped to the side. While there, standing where she was, stood Aizen his sword still sheathed. He could not help but smirk at Kita’s reaction.

“No trust?” Aizen asked her.

“Trust is a false assurance.” Kita replied as she then quickly blocked another attack from Lord Tousen.

“Enough. She has proven herself to me.” Aizen said lifting his hand to Tousen.

Tousen sheathed his sword and stood in his place. Kita looked between them then slowly lowered her blade. She then felt the hand of her master on her shoulder.

“Sheath your blade, Kita. You heard Lord Aizen.”

Sheathing her sword, she stepped back and positioned herself behind Ulquiorra as he faced Aizen and Tousen.

“We still have training she needs to undergo. Are you finished testing my fraccion’s strength and worth?”

Aizen looked to Ulquiorra with a nod. “I want reports on her progress. The next step is her release, am I right?”

Ulquiorra only nodded.

Lord Aizen returned his nod. “You are dismissed.”
