"I don't believe in science," //almost a rant, iffy subject

(the comment was in reply to this article [not the same site though])

I'm not an atheist (and quite honestly, I don't like labels either), but I firmly believe that stupidity can come from everywhere. I actually never realized that there were people that are currently... breathing air (you know, molecules and all that 'hokey-pokey'), the very same air I'm breathing, and not believing in science.

The worst thing is?

Some of those people have children.

Why is that a concern of mine? For some of these people, when their precious child becomes deathly ill, they seek no medical treatment for them because they believe that God will heal their child. More often than not, the child is pulled into believing this. If their child perishes despite their prayers and sermons? It's God's will. Doesn't that contradict the belief that humans have free will?

If God indeed exists and he or she made everything possible-- then doesn't the mental capabilities, the knowledge of modern science come from them as well? Shouldn't we have the free will to seek treatment for ourselves? Would God truly allow us to have this intelligence, if he or she could solve all of the issues themselves?

I swear, this type of thing makes me lose a little 'faith' every now and then. //facepalm

It's not meant to come off as 'anti-God'; I believe in a higher 'power'- to a certain extent. Which is why I call it both male and female; can we be so sure? And it's just... people tend to makes things more complicated than it needs to be. A little logic wouldn't hurt.
