Welcome, friends

~ TCJ (The Comics Journal)

"Adam is actually a decently accomplished troll."
~ Allamorph

"The scale of Adam's cunning genius is truly frightening."

Okay Okay Okay Okay Okay...

I know it's inexcusable that it took us 4 years to fix, but tags now display on world posts.

Rise of the Spam Mechs

I found over 2,000 fake spam accounts on theO, created by machines to try and post nefarious links across the site.

I really dislike CAPTCHAs, those images with blurry, hard-to-read text that verify if people are human, but we can't have these accounts swarming the site and causing trouble.

Hm...what to do...

Uploaded a work recently that they want honest feedback/criticism on rather than just compliments? Post the link in the comments and I'll take a look.

Me = Sick :(

Quick Thoughts

- theO's traffic has been on a roll lately but there's a big mountain left to climb. A ton of returning visitors have come back.

- I have sad news to announce about theO's podcast, will make a post about it tonight.

- I want to give a shout out to tiggerola. She's done a great job every week in welcoming new members to theO and setting a positive tone early on.

- I'd love to make a "Matrix-like" page that displays all incoming member comments on theO and just have it run nonstop. It can stay on my iPad to the side. Then I can shock people by replying to comments only seconds after they post it.

- When theO introduces its next site we're going to have a 'blind submission' period, where people submit works before the site launches. Then when the site launches we'll have a ton of great content ready.

- Someone PMed me asking about the world preview option and why it's different than just reading the text in the text box. Two reasons: (1) Formats styling, and (2) It's MUCH easier to catch spelling/grammar mistakes when you see the text in a different context. Reading in text boxes is painful.

Cheers to you,
