The only rule is: there are no rules!

Most Important: Don't stress out. Remember, this about taking little steps. When doing your daily project, focus on the current day and don't think about tomorrow, next week, or next month. Big projects can be incredibly daunting, but you'll be amazed at what you can do when you break them down into a series of tiny, manageable pieces.

The key to a successful daily project is deciding on a subject or medium that you will enjoy exploring for a year.

Keep in mind that a simpler idea will go a lot farther than a complicated on. If you choose a consistent subject matter (skulls, stars, smiley faces, chihuahuas, etc.), pick something you already like. You probably have plenty examples of it in your environment to inspire you, and you'll be less likely to get tired of it before a year is over.

and lastly, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT DOCUMENT!!!!! take pictures/video of not only the finished product. maybe take some of you in the process of making the project. and if it is something that will change over time (snow melting, food rotting), document that as well.

DAY 10

PROMPT: use only water as your medium/inspiration today.

my original plan was to take my cat into the bathtub, give her a little bath and take a pic of her wet. but then, as i took her into the bathroom, she looked up at me with these big sad eyes. "mommy, why are you doing this to me?" and my heart broke. so instead i stole her water bowl for a few minutes and used ice to make a kitty.

DAY 11 PROMPT: work on the other hand. pick a medium you're comfortable with, then use your non-dominant hand-if you usually favor your right hand then only use your left and vice-versa.

DAY 9

PROMPT: make something with your breakfast before you eat it.

my computer was being a massive butt this morning, as was my fruit. i was not able to get onto this site for anything, so hopefully everyone looked at the prompt with spoilers is yesterday's post. but i always eat a whey protein/fruit smoothie for breakfast. so i poured the milk, then laid the whey down for a surface. the plan was then to put the sliced frozen strawberries and bananas down to make a kitty face in the blender before i blended it. but the darn fruit kept sinking! grrr. i had a hard time with this prompt. i can't wait for tomorrow.

Days 4-9

There was a fortune teller I made out of a receipt, the eiffel tower (a mini one I have in my room) small sketch of canadian flag i have, random sharpie flower haha, an elephant bookend i made four years ago i think, and random text faces. Didn't know what to draw so they were sloppy lol

DAY 8

PROMPT: transform an old book into something new by cutting, folding, gluing, and so on.

(anything in the book family counts in my opinion. i personnally plan on using an old magazine. but if you want to use an old actual book, go for it.)

i snagged an old national geographic magazine from the painting studio at school. i flipped through and cut out the two cat pictures in it, and the leopard. then i cut out a lemur tail, hawk's wings, red panda's ear, and a woman statue head to make a sort of sphinx. i then pasted them to make a new cover for the national geographic magazine. i had a lot of fun doing this.

DAY 7

PROMPT: one week down! see how fast it goes? today, make a stencil and use it in your work.

of course i had to grab the dullest blade in coexistence today. took me forever to make my stencil. i ended up having to take it with me to the bowling league, and work on it while waiting for my turn to bowl. but i am now fascinated with cat skulls, after starting my lithography project yesterday. so i decided to make a stencil of another cat skull, then add flesh features on top. very creepy looking, but i think he's adorable.
