    Can't wait for the next chapter of Durarara!! Also, I can't believe there's another Vocaloid! I looked it up once and there's already more than a dozen of them. I love the vocaloids, but its getting harder to memorize all their names. ^_^;

    It's kind of odd that something like Strike Witches could make someone want to join the JSDF, haha. You'd think the increase would be related to (not-so) recent tensions among some nations over there.

    The Wind Rises is in tough, especially with some earlier press the film received due to its historical subject matter. In a New York Times article the writer referred to the film as essentially being "a biopic of Jiro Horikoshi, an aeronautical engineer whose contribution to the world was a killing machine." I emphasize that phrase to point out how some chose to politicize the film from the outset. Here's another one from The Korea Times:"New Miyazaki animation stirring controversy in Korea". It too makes use of the phrase "killing machine". Again, (though of far lesser quality writing):The Wind Rises (Film Review). In it the writer picked up on the phrase, and added further that the killing machine "was used to murder hundreds of thousands of people....".

    It all sounded quite one-sided and biased, which makes me wonder if the same type of comments would have been written if, say, Disney made a film about the P-51 Mustang, which was one of the most successful killing machines in WW2, perhaps more than the Mitsubishi Zero.
