    Shame on me for missing something so useful! It's a pity we don't have notifications for fan words too, it would be easier to keep track of them. Anyway, back to the essay.

    I like the way you laid everything down: strict, objective and to-the-point. That teacher would have been insane if he/she hadn't given you a high mark, this essay really deserves recognition. Of all the pro's you named here, I'd say the writing skill improvement one applies to me the most. Of course, it's useful to have a blog because you can develop friendships with people you'd never know otherwise (Internet, you are this century's god). Heck, sometimes I even find out the friends I have here are better than the ones in real life!

    Ah yes, the prejudice of stalkers. Personally, I've never been concerned about stalkers, not even one bit. I did show my picture and my home city and country to everyone, not to mention age. Aside from the fact that I haven't met a lot of Romanians on the Internet, I think I'm safe. So I guess here's a small piece of advice for "young" bloggers: you have to expose a bit of your personality if you want the same from others. Or else they'll think you're a stalker XD

    I thank you for sharing this essay with the rest, it will truly be helpful! *looks at comments* Maybe this way people who don't believe blogs are good will open their eyes to the advantages and not only to the disadvantages. Keep it up! I'm looking forward to more essays from you!

    ^__^ This is a wonderful essay my friend! Such wonderful writing and you were very descriptive, making it easier to follow along. I agree completely with you, the blog is a wonderful thing and you can share just about anything; your personal diary. ^_^ I have met so many wonderful people from just blogging, so it is amazing. Also, I thought it was very unique for you to put in that blogging can help your typing skills! =D You know I have never actually thought of it that way...but I agree very much with you^^ ^_^ Great job Kelsey, you did a fantastic job! =^_^=

    @SomeGuy:

    Thank you very much for your opinion!! And yes, I agree about the whole IM shortcut typing creating more improper grammar and whatnot. ^^; I totally agree. I actually wrote a different essay just on that...it's just for this one, I took my stand on just the positives of blogging. :3 But again, yes! That is a problem. Thanks again for your view! [by the way, I got a 100 on this paper, so yeah, I guess I am good at formal essays, ne?]

    You have a really good knack for formal essay writing; you avoid the usual pitfalls of most people who try to write formally, over-complicate their sentences to the point that they sound like monkeys and then basically lose track of what they're trying to say. So I like that.

    Umm . . . I think for the most part your point is pretty solid. I'm sure some can argue that typing on the internet isn't always good for typing practice if they use a lot of 'net slang or otherwise just don't care about proper anything (which then leads to a whole other mess of problems), but for the most part I agree - I know that years of IM systems have definitely sped up my typing speed to at least twice as fast as when I first started high school way back in . . . well, way back a long time ago . . .

    For the most part, though, I really enjoy your writing - very clear, very easy to read. Good work.
