An entry to Alchemic Mushroom's "Draw Your OC" challenge.

This is Hikari, who I renamed Luka in my most recent draft of "Search for the Sky" (which I just finished this week). He's a bumbling wanderer who on the surface seems laid-back and a bit flaky but has serious issues with his past. This is a minor spoiler, as it's revealed within the first few chapters: he's also one of the Gifted, and he has the ability to absorb and transfer energy. The crescent-and-flame markings shown in this picture glow when his powers are activated; since the Gifted are feared by normal humans, he usually hides them.

In canon, his psychological idiosyncrasies make him really interesting to write, and "off-stage" (in crossovers, RPs, etc.), he's ramble-y and random, which is fun. I really enjoy this character, but I don't draw him enough these days. So, thanks for giving me an excuse to do so! ;D

As for the drawing, this was foreshortening practice. It was difficult, but satisfying to see the result! I also put the new coloring/blending technique I practiced with Chika to work on this. I JUST BARELY MANAGED TO GET IT IN ON TIME!!! I finished coloring this days ago, but then theO was down! I was so scared it wouldn't be back up before the deadline! TuT
