Kaijin89 asked for a picture of one of her OCs with one of her Santa's OC, so out of the list she gave, Maverick seemed like the one I wanted to draw. He was listed as "enjoying reading old tomes," so I figure he'd be interested in finding old bits of lore scattered in the deep places of the world. Here, Maverick hired Captain as a sort of guide in his search. Captain doesn't really care about digging into the past like this, but the phrase "will work for food" still rings true, so here he is.

I decided to go without my usual Photoshop shading method for a hands-on lighting effect. I think it turned out nicely. Hope you like it, Kaijin89! =D
