Well, I gave it my all. I made a sketch, edited it, found some colors, and vectored over the image. I hope I win. I'm actually more concerned about getting my mascot displayed than winning Anime Studio.
I tried to pick colors similar to the ones in the "really old" mascot picture. So that explains the pink and orange. I also wanted more than just blue and white, so that it would be different.
The character is smiling which represents friendliness. The pencil represents creativity.
I know that there are a lot of female mascot candidates to shake things up, but I made mine a boy. That's just what came to mind.
I'm not sure what I want to name him. I know the original mascot is Spikey, but I like the sound of "Omaru". I have no idea if there is any meaning to the name in Japanese. I just came up with it because "O" is for "otaku" and "-maru" is a suffix for a boy's name in Japanese.
This picture was sketched with pencil and paper, edited with Photoshop CS5, and vectored over with Illustrator CS5.
This artwork is made for theotaku.com use only.

Creativity Is Key
