I would have to agree with you that I also like his design so far; I think the ginger hair with the pretty blue eyes is a very nice combination.~ Also, the wavyness of his hair just makes me want to ruffle it.

His ears are cute too, but he looks like he got part of them bitten off...hmm... *has gone off into the land of speculation*

So yeah, it's really cute and I think you should continue to design him because I would definitely be interested in seeing more. :)
