(I'm using the German names for Germanic countries now, so nyeh. Switzerland is still Switzerland though.)

Two episodes left and they're wasting screentime on another Chinatown joke? Come on, where's my Buon San Valentino? Or Hetare 4: The Pact of Steel? Or the Canada-san comics? Come on, there's loads of delightful material that doesn't involve incomprehensible potshots. And they even cut out the punchline of said potshot, so it makes even less sense than before!

Something about Liechtenstein's anime incarnation scares me. I think it's the eyes.

Child Österreich is so moe. Having noticed this, I now hate myself.

GASP!
The melodramatic flashbacks in this episode amuse me endlessly. Switzerland and Österreich can't even buy cheese or use a napkin without gasping in dramatic closeup and recalling some portion of their tumultuous relationship. If there were a pocket watch tune playing in the background, I would assume I was watching an episode of Noir by mistake.
(I love how the cheap cheese has the brand name "Cheap Cheese". That just takes a special kind of nose-thumbing disregard for your customers.)

Preussen! We missed you! Or are you Eastern Deutschland now? You're thoughtfully labelled "Preussen", but you're even called that in strips set in the present day and, to be honest, I have no idea when any of this episode is taking place. They were in a modern-ish grocery store earlier so I guess it's the present day after all?
Hetalia is pretty convenient for shippers because the characters apparently just pop into existence whenever and wherever a national character has been born, so you can pair up the Italy brothers and ship America with England or Canada or whoever without feeling bad because they're not really brothers as such. Even so, I have a little trouble with Preussen and Österreich (or any combination involving them and/or Deutschland), because even real-life people centuries before Hetalia thought of those countries as brothers. They even named a war after it. Seriously. I don't care if Deutschland, Österreich, and Preussen all look and act totally different and are of random ages that completely negate any possibility of fraternity; they'll always be brothers in my view. Italia and Germania is historically-supported canon, and Germanicest is historically-supported badtouch. And I hope that neither I nor absolutely anyone else ever need type that sentence again.
