Fall Of Threnody Pt. II

Inside of the school Xerin sat in his homeroom as bored as ever as the teacher went on and on with his rant about Adin cutting class yet again and how annoyed about it he was. Xerin could honestly care less, Adin did this kind of thing every once in a while so it wasn't a surprise anymore. But with the teacher being the way he was it got more irritating with every whiny complaint that blubbered out of his mouth. The teacher meant well and it was his first year teaching so it was understandable, but it was irritating for the people who had to sit through it. He'd have to yell at Adin for it later. Xerin glanced over at the empty seats of Adin, Braxlin, and Varahn and sighed heavily. Those lucky bastards... he thought inwardly and with another heavy sigh he began to wonder why he didn't go with them. The teacher notice his sigh and immediately turned his attention to him.
"So Mr. Phoenix is there something you'd like to share with the class? I mean with sighs like that there must be something on your mind, so please do share with the class," the teacher said in an annoyed tone. Xerin cursed himself for not being more careful about his sighs and looked up at the teacher with a bored look. "Oh I was just wondering how long it would take before Varahn and Braxlin caught up to Adin. I mean this is getting pretty ridiculous, wouldn't you agree?" The teacher began to look even more flustered and angry and went back onto his rant now more fixated on Adin and his "inexcusable absences" from class. With another bored sigh Xerin rested his head down on his desk and began to wonder again why he didn't leave with Varahn and Braxlin.
Elsewhere in the school Jarogan was taking the long way through the halls back to class after "excusing himself" to go to the bathroom. This should be long enough, the teacher's crying should be over right now. His plan to avoid the crying teacher was a complete success and he began to congradulate himself for thinking of such a great plan and kicking himself for not thinking of it sooner. He'd have to remember to do this again when Adin planned on skipping class again.
Suddenly there was what sounded like a huge thunderclap that shook the ground and took Jarogan out of his thoughts. What was that he thought looking around in an almost panicked state. As he calmed himself down an announcement came on over the intercom. "Faculty and students we are going into lockdown, I repeat we are going into lockdown. This is not a drill. All staff and students are to report to a classroom immediately, I repeat report to a classroom and go into lockdown procedures until the lockdown is over." Jarogan didn't need another warning to know he needed to get to class, he bolted down the hallway towards his classroom still trying to figure out what was going on.
