Art Update: BTS

Since it’s BTS’s 3rd year anniversary (technically already over in Korea), I decided to post one more thing here. I don’t post the art here because I don’t want to spam theO with kpop fan art since I don’t know how many are fans. However, I do post on my tumblr and twitter dedicated to BTS; the name is “minteasweet” in case anyone wants to see. Of course, I’ll eventually draw fan art of other artists I like. I’ve just been testing out different art styles.

February 23:
The first realistic digital drawing I made. I drew Suga because he was the easiest to draw.

March 30:
By this time, Suga became my bias and the person I would test different art styles with. I drew him in my normal art style, which is really manga-ish with cell shading. I wasn't too satisfied with it.

April 11:
I wanted to draw Jungkook from a scene in the Run mv. Unfortunately, I couldn’t draw plaid. But drawing the pose was quick; I don’t know how proportionate it is though. The drawing is in a different default art style of mine, and I continued to cell shade. I still desired something more from the coloring.

May 7:
I wanted to draw a picture of one of the recently released concept photos. I also wanted to color differently; I wanted to color softly and make the hair slightly glow. I didn’t know how to color the clothes.

May 15:
I drew fan art of a kpop youtube reactor named Chance MPOD with his bias Jhope. I drew slightly more realistically than usual. I used the marker tool a lot to color. I also shaded the clothing in a very simple way. By this time, I no longer knew what my normal art style is.

May 29:
I originally tried drawing Jin realistically, but it didn’t go well. Now I’m trying to draw Suga again since I need art to submit for a portfolio since I’m trying to change my college major. This is the first time drawing realistically with actual color, so I wanted to draw someone I’m familiar with. So far it’s too warm and I’m trying to add in some blues or purples to the face but it’s not going so well.
