You were just a faint glimmer, a sparkling diamond in an otherwise dreary day, but I saw you. In fact, I almost missed you. The glimpse was quick, fleeting, wanting, but I got it. In that single moment, light refracted off of you in myriad rays of color so vibrant and beautiful that I knew I was completely in love with you. But before I could come to know you, you disappeared faster than you burst into this life and was gone forever, never to be duplicated. It was sad, of course, but that's just how it was meant to be. You were the first drop of spring rain, and I watched you as you were falling down.
