Note: This is simply how I played/play this character. These are my opinions, not absolute fact.
Everyone knows the whiny little konoichi Sakura. She got on our nerves in series one of NARUTO and became the biggest cliche EVER. NO ONE WANTS TO BE A SAKURA.
But what about in Naruto Shippuden, the second series?
Shippuden Sakura is probably one of the toughest konoichi in the series at the moment. She has refined her ninjutsu and become a medical nin- an impressive one at that- and also used her chakra control to her advantage by improving on her strength and/or physical attacks. Though she's still behind Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, her two comrades and friends, she is, in her own way, making up for lost time.
I'm going to be frank here. You can't play Sakura because you think she's easy to play. You can't hate her if you want to play her. No. I take it back. You can play her AND hate her, but you have to understand her to play her properly. Sakura is another complicated role- most in anime are- and her character has more depth than most people think.
When playing a character like Sakura, the RPer must remember and be specific; there are three Sakuras; before Sasuke left, after Sasuke left, and when Naruto returns to Konoha. All three of them have the same "base" personality; Sakura is still perky, somewhat boy crazy, and also a bit spirited, but they all have variations.
For example....
The first Sakura we see- the most "annoying" in many opinions- has an Inner Sakura. Inner Sakura expresses all the outer, more polite and somewhat reserved Sakura has to say. However, when this Sakura is around Naruto...Inner Sakura comes to the surface.... Utilize Inner Sakura in any way you can if you play this Sakura. "Cha"! or "Shanaroo!" is also a common Inner Sakura phrase. Use it to your heart's content- but don't OVER DO IT....or else, you lose all effect.
The second Sakura- the very teary, I-need-to-get-stronger Sakura- surfaces when Sasuke leaves the village and after Naruto is nearly killed in Sasuke and Naruto's confrontation. She is seen in filler; though filler isn't always relevant, it can be, and as an RPer, you may use it to your advantage. This Sakura is less squeamish and a bit more courageous because she wants to change- and she is also a medical ninja in training. If you want, you can complain about how Lady Tsunade trains you. (Which is very entertaining)
The third and most recent Sakura is 15-16 year old Shippuden Sakura. If you compare this Sakura to the first, there is a vast change. This Sakura can hold her ground in combat and is also (in some ways) a qualified doctor, AKA medical nin. She is more confident and also not as naive as she previously was; she is more mature (even though often she loses her cool around Naruto when he acts like an idiot) and though she may seem less fun to play at times, she still has her Inner Sakura, though she wears her on the outside. So at random moments, she can "snap" and that...can definitely be entertaining.
"Time skips" are often troublesome when RPing. You must be specific. If you are playing the first or second Sakura and someone (an OC, most likely, or even another RPer) asks what it's like to fight in a shinobi war, YOU ARE TO ACT LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY MEAN. You are part of the past.
REMEMBER YOUR ROLE.

-Her favorite food
-Her hobbies
-How she interacts with Ino and/or konoichi in NARUTO
-Which Sakura you are
-In your own eyes, you would not be annoying
-Sakura tries very hard to help the people around her, though it may not seem like it

Suzaku Kururugi belongs to the anime "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion" and "Code Geass: R2", and to the author.

Ahh, Suzu-kun. This is a somewhat difficult character to play, mostly because he has many "ifs" "ands" or "buts". Though on the one hand Suzaku is a high school student with the best manners (because of his lineage as the prime ministers' son), he is also a Knight of Seven, the Lancelot Pilot, and later, Zero and the Knight of Zero. He wears many masks, and he is also very passionate at times, not to mention being "cursed" with the "will to live" from the order Lelouch gave him, though one of the parts of knowing his character is being able to understand that it is seldom seen after Lelouch "dies". (In theory, he may not have.)
The way I played Suzaku was how a person should probably play any proper gentleman, but you must remember, Suzaku is a high school student and he is often flustered by certain things, but overall loves to have fun. Lelouch is the serious friend. Suzaku is almost the "Naruto" to Lelouch's "Sasuke". (Pardon the Naruto reference) When interacting with Lelouch, Suzaku is more friendly and less formal- at least, while no one else is around. Suzaku can be incredibly serious and somewhat scary, to the point where you forget that he is technically a "high school student". Keep that in mind.
In the end, I ended up giving Suzaku a "cute" sort of vibe when he was friendly, and it suited him just fine as long as I didn't make him TOO cute. DX However, keep in mind that when Suzaku is being "Gentlemanly" he doesn't use suffixes; he has accepted the Brittanian rule, so he uses "Miss ____" or "Mr ___" or "Sir" instead, especially when talking to higher ranked officers.
Remember that Suzaku also pilots a Knightmare, especially that Knightmare's name, Lancelot!
Things you should know:
-Suzaku's past with Lelouch
-Suzaku's *late* Love interest
-Interactions with certain characters (i.e., Nunnally, Lelouch, Kallen, etc.)
-What weapons Suzaku uses
-Suzaku's special abilities (especially if you wish to fight when playing him)
-Suzaku's relationship with his *deceased* father, the last Prime Minister of Japan.
-Suzaku's pet, Arthur
REMEMBER THAT SUZAKU IS ALSO JAPANESE! XD This may help you later.

For Jiraiya, I didn't actually PLAN to play him. It just...came up. XD AND IT WAS SO FUN.

Jiraiya of the Sannin is a PERVERT. He enjoyed peeping in the ladies' hot springs on occasion, even though he was also playing a dual "teacher" role. While in his "Teacher" mode, he wasn't the least bit perverted, but if he was, he always put his sensei-ship first. That's the deal with Jiraiya. Balance. While he has that "ero" in him, he's also a Sannin, a very skilled and intelligent shinobi and sensei, so he isn't just a perverted old man all of the time. The balance is usually the downfall for RPers when it comes to Jiraiya.
His speech is usually that of a mature person, but when it comes to the ladies or gathering research- sometimes, even with Tsunade- it switches from "No, I didn't think it was possible. I'll have to update you on my findings of Orochimaru later, Kakashi." to "BE QUIET! I'm gathering very important research. *nosebleed drips down his chin*" or even "OH HO HO, NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!
Another note: Jiraiya may be a pervert, but he's not a pedophile. He would never hit on young girls (and certainly not young boys, or any males in general). Also, there are times when he pushes aside his pervertness and becomes a man people can look up to. A hero. *small smile*that was a pun 8D

First off, I know the biggest problem when people RP is deciding who to RP as!
Obviously, no one can play every anime/video game character in the world. No one knows EVERY series, EVERY move, etc, of EVERY known character in the universe. That would be weird. What you need to find is a character compatible to you!
How?
First off, who are your favorite characters?
Got them?
Good!
Second step: Which ones can you describe best?
PICK THEM. DO IT.
Good...
Now...how do they speak/act?
This is the hardest part because this is where playing the actual character comes in. However, if you've watched an anime or played a video game and heard the voice, write out a sentence you think the character would say and imagine "that" voice saying it. If it seems off either A. The character is not "alive" inside of your mind or B. That's simply not something that character would say.
FOR EXAMPLE:
Naruto (I love using Naruto for examples) can easily be "heard" when someone types something like this: "HOMEWORK!? WE HAD HOMEWORK!? GAAAAH!"
You could "hear" that, couldn't you? If not, go look up a video of "Naruto" with Uzumaki Naruto's voice in the audio. NOW compare it.
Try it with some other character that you want to RP as! GO AHEAD! You can continue with others until you enjoy one enough to want to stick with it!
