My sleeping schedule is still a bit off, but it's getting there.
I'm just gonna do this the bullet point style. I can't really articulate everything into paragraph form right now. Simplicity is better for me at this point.
Here we go!
Highlights (in no particular order):
- My bro couldn't open his honey peanut bag in the plane while everyone else was enjoying their bag of honey peanuts. The scene was just very funny.
- Plane ride tidbit again. He got smacked in the face with the seats in front of him twice, consecutively. Bro is quite a tall guy.
- A man jumped onto the back of our rented van as we were leaving from the airport. He asked for money and so we gave.
- Horse-riding in Baguio and mom getting off the horse in the middle of the ride. She was paranoid of being kidnapped. (I would have had more fun if she would have just relaxed
- Visiting the huge malls.
- Staying in Baguio even though it was misty and raining.
- Riding in the jeepney.
- The amazing traffic rules or lack thereof. I kinda miss it now though because it was more exciting.
- Traffic at 12 in the morning.
- The zigzag ride up and down the mountain to and from Baguio. It's not as scary as people say it is. Not scary at all.
- Pan de Manila pan de sal!! ARGH they serve the best pan de sal EVER. Even if they get cold, they're still soft and YUMMY.
- The garlic fried rice from their McDonald's is SUPER YUMMY. The best garlic fried rice I've ever tasted!
- Church and houses of worship. SOoooo pretty!
What I Noticed:
- They call it Dine-in and Take-out instead of To-go and For Here. Some places here call it Dine-in and Take-out but majority of the places say the latter. Over there it is exclusively the Dine-in and Take-out.
- When they say they'll order something for you in the store, they mean they're ordering it from their stock in the store. I had no idea what this meant because what I'm used to, is that they usually just say they'll get it in the back. They refrain from using the word "order" unless they're ordering it from another store in another mall.
- Most toilets don't have toilet paper available. You have to have your own. There are only few places where they actually provide them for free.
- It's not the restroom it's the comfort room.
- The workers follow you around in the store if you're shopping for something. They help you look for something and they ask you for your size. They ask you what you're looking for, and they make suggestions for you, and they even go and pick something out for you. But that's so they could get you to buy something. I think it's for points.
- Pineapple juice is a common beverage to offer. More common than orange juice.
- Strawberries are seasonal so you can't have your favorite strawberry dessert whenever you want it.
- Almost every jeepney is personalized. They all have different names and different paint jobs. I think it's cool :)
The Ending:
Saying good-bye to my little bro was hard :( I really really miss him. There are four of us still, except now it's only three of us in the states and one over there doing what he must do. We will adjust sooner or later.
And yeah, my auntie wanted me to teach at New Era University while I go to school at the University of the Philippines. She knows someone there who might be able to help me teach, and also attend school. But like I said, it's a rather big decision to make. I would really like to, but I dunno, I'm finding it hard to suddenly relinquish the life I have here. I'm talking about my social life, not the material comfort. Oh well, I really don't know.
If I go, however, I'd be right there with my bro since his college is right next to NEU. But yeah, BIG decision to make.
Okay, I don't know how to end this. That's it for now, take care.
Note to Jomz: By the way, my parents and uncle were there in Naga to visit my auntie, I think on Thursday-Friday. I could have visited with them if I hadn't left so early. Darn haha! And correction, my auntie owns a hardware store called Arcely's Paint Haus :)
