What is Movie Sign?
Every Sunday night, we nestle down in Chat and watch an episode of the cult TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K for short) while spamming up the Chat box. Don't worry - we use episodes available on streaming sites so that we can all watch simultaneously.
What's MST3K?
A comedy show that ran from 1988-1999, it's like watching a movie with running commentary. Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, along with 'bots Tom Servo and Crow, are forced to watch terrible films as part of a mad scientist's bid for world domination. To keep their (and our) sanity, they talk back to the movies and riff on them. A more detailed explanation can be found up at the SoL.
Next Episode
Two couples find themselves cast away to an uncharted island and soon find themselves in the care of Dr. Albert Balleau, a man who likes to hunt both animals...and humans. In case you missed middle school lit class, it's a "Most Dangerous Game"-esque type of deal, which ends up being dealt with in fairly predictable fashion.
Before the movie, we've got a short, "Uncle Jim's Dairy Farm", in which two city kids go and live on their uncle's dairy farm for the summer.
Host Segment Highlights
Dr. F's mom comes for a visit, so Deep 13 gets a re-design. Crow gets a vegetable stand that doesn't last very long, the square dance doesn't last long either, and Mystery Murder Dinner Theater gets cut short as well. Well, at least the Forrester meal will go well...right?

About the Anime Club
The Anime Club is a weekly room in theOtaku's community chat where we meet to have fun laughing, crying, heckling, and spazzing together while watching a few episodes of anime. Rather than watching mainstream shows, however, we pick out good, yet lesser-known anime as an opportunity for people to enjoy new shows. Streaming links are usually provided for those without a copy of the anime.
Current Anime
Genshiken 2 is the 12 episode continuation of the first season. Sasahara Kanji is now the chairman of Genshiken and the show follows his struggles in organizing the group to produce a doujinshi manga for Comic Fest. Meanwhile, the others have problems of their own. Graduation is fast approaching for the seniors and finding a job is no small task.

Kare Kano (aka His and Her Circumstances) is a 26 episode romantic comedy about Miyazawa Yukino (Enomoto Atsuko), a vain high school girl who acts like miss perfect to garner praise and attention, and Arima Souichirou (Suzuki Chihiro), her classmate who really is mister perfect. Through rivalry, manipulation, and curiosity the two grow closer and experience the drama of high school romance together.

Due to a lack of activity, this will be the last regularly scheduled Anime Club meeting. I may organize more from time to time, in which case I'll post about them here on the Watercooler, but it won't be a weekly event anymore. It was fun while it lasted.
Hello peeps. It's finally time to do that thing that we've been talking about a little bit, which is the voting for what movies we'll be re-watching in Movie Sign come December. Since several episodes hold a place in members' hearts or were missed, it seems only right that we should take a month to rewind back to those movies and relive the good times and riffs.
So that's what we're doing!
Using this list, please select three movies you would like to watch. Note that the host doesn't matter, as we're throwing out the switch-off for December (so go ahead, pick three Mikes or three Joels).
For the fourth movie, please choose between the two Christmas episodes - Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (Joel) or Santa Claus (Mike).
If you have any questions or cannot remember the title of a movie, please feel free to comment away.
All voting needs to be done by November 19th, with probably one or two more rounds coming after this post to get everything narrowed down.
