Kingdom Hearts in 30 Days - Day Eight

Day Eight- Your favorite piece of Kingdom Hearts music.

I love Xion's theme. It is childish, whimsical and heartbreaking at the same time. Take a listen and try not to cry.

Kingdom Hearts in 30 Days - Day Seven

Day Seven- What is the hardest boss battle?

There are boss battles I haven’t completed in the Kingdom Hearts series. So I’m gonna be choosing from the list of battles that I’ve actually completed.

So… Xaldin isn’t the hardest boss battle of them all but… if I never had to fight him again I’d be so much happier. There are boss fights that I lost multiple times in a row, but each time I loss I felt like I had learned something. The Xaldin fight is just so… stupid. Random? I’m sure there is a way to beat him without making a fool out of yourself but if there is I haven’t figured it out. Bosses have patters and once you learn said pattern they’re easy to pick apart. You get the rhythme of the fight down and everything becomes ten times easier. I have never, even five years later, learned how to fight Xaldin smartly. I know his moves, I know his patterns but I can’t avoid his attacks half the time.

When it comes Xaldin it is kind of a “would you like to get punched in the face now or in like, two seconds?” I normally get punched two seconds later, but it still hurts like hell.

Kingdom Hearts in 30 Days - Day Six

Day Six- What is your favorite Heartless?

Is this really a hard question for people to answer? Of course my favorite Heartless are Shadows! They’re cute and creepy in the same breath. They’re terrifying and harmless all at once. I think the most scary thing about Shadows is that any character in the game can become one at any moment. The moment your heart is tainted by the Darkness? Poof! Insta-Shadow! Yes, there’s bigger and stronger Heartless. And yes, some Heartless are created in laboratories, but the simple fact that at any moment you can become one makes them the scariest Heartless of all.

But seriously, aren’t they just the cutest?

Kingdom Hearts in 30 Days - Day Five

Day Five- What is your favorite World?

So this is a bit of a toughie. I love so many places in Kingdom Hearts, I love exploring different areas and seeing what is around the next corner. So I approached this question kinda of a “where would you like to live?” To that question the answer was clear.

Destiny Island is a place I know like the back of my hand. I can close my eyes and picture it perfectly in my head. I know where the secret spot is and where the little boat dock is. There’s a small little shack, a tree house, and on odd boat-shaped platform. There are nooks and crannies and a wonderfully crooked tree that’s just big enough for three people to sit on.

There’s a certain air about Destiny Island. It is exotic but at the same time it feels just like home. It is a foreign tropical island, a child’s paradise, but you can see just about anybody living there. It is laid back and full of adventure. If I had to pack up, get into a gummi ship and pick one worlds, just one to visit, I would want to go to Destiny Island and sleep on the beach and dip my toes into the ocean and run around playing with fake swords.

I can’t wait to return, for good to this place. I want to see the main island where Sora, Riku, and Kairi live. I want to explore and never, ever leave.

Kingdom Hearts in 30 Days - Day Four

Day Four - Who is your favorite Kingdom Hearts villain?

If anybody read my BBS play through thing last summer they know how much I love this kid. Like Axel I could probably talk about this boy for hours so, I’m gonna try to keep my fangirl to a minimum here.

Last post I talked about Master Xehanort and my intense hatred for him. You see, Master Xehanort is an asshole but doesn’t see himself as an asshole. That irks me. Vanitas, on the other hand, knows he’s an asshole and owns it. Loves it and embraces it.

See, Unversed are all about negativity. Vanitas, as their creator, feeds on it. It fuels him. Vanitas is a troll. He sits there, saying stuff to see people react. When they get upset, when they react, it makes him pleased. Making people miserable makes him happy. He goes out of his way to talk shit for the pure purpose of it making other people uncomfortable, to make them doubt themselves. He has this bit of key information and he dangles it like a carrot over people’s head. Watching them jump is like the highest form of entertainment to him.

Vanitas is my homefry. I love him in the same vein that I love Axel. Whereas Axel has somewhat good intentions to all his lying/manipulative ways Vanitas is on the other ends of the spectrum. He’s a liar, he’s a manipulator and it is all for evil purposes. You can clearly tell that he knows what he’s up to is bad/evil/whatever. If the worlds succumbed to Darkness Vanitas would probably think it was the best joke ever. He’d get a super awesome ‘x’-blade and he could do whatever the fuck he wanted to and it would be SWEEEET.

I hope this guy isn’t dead. My head!cannon is that he and Riku Replica are off having awesome adventures together. Nothing you can say will make me think that they aren’t off trolling people and coming up with half-baked ways to kill Riku.
