Right! This is just a world I created in order to collect some informations about VOCALOID software for others who doesn't really know what they are! Informations here about VOCALOIDs may be really obvious for those who know VOCALOID well enough But I prefer to start from the beginning :P

Just a real quick info about VOCALOID-
Currently there are 13 VOCALOID softwares, inclouding the English VOCALOID.
But sadly, I haven't really tried using English VOCALOID so I'll only be posting things about Japanese VOCALOID! Note that please!

Then here are lists of the VOCALOID:
VOCALOID
MEIKO
KAITO

VOCALOID2
初音ミク(Hatsune Miku)
鏡音リン・レン(Kagamine Rin・Len)
神威がくぽ (Kamui Gakupo)
巡音ルカ (Megurine Luka)

*Note that I've only listed Japanese VOCALOID, but Megurine Luka can sing in both Japanese and English.
If there are any incorrect informations here, feel free to correct me by commenting/PM me.

P.S If you have ANY questions about VOCALOID, just email me→ AkaiSekai@hotmail.co.jp

[About]Megurine Luka

Megurine Luka is the latest VOCALOID that came out. I don't know that much informtions about her so let's just get on to her profile!

Megurine Luka's
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Height: 162cm
Weight: 42kg
Genre she's confident at: Latin-Jazz, House Electronica
Tempo she's confident at: 65~145BPM
Musical Range she's confident at: D3-D5
*She can sing in both Japanese and English

Arrrgh... I know that there are some more genre she's good at, but I can't remember
...And about her mascot..? I've no idea! I do know, but I'm not really sure if they are correct. So I'll go onto Nico someday to check it :D (It's either Tuna or an octopus...)

Well anyway, in some ways she kinda sounds like Len. But a bit more femine, I'd say? And her voice came from Asakawa Yuu, which may be obvious(?)...

I tried using her English voice, and it seems that unlike English VOCALOID(like Miriam, Sweet Ann, Leon etc) you actually put the whole word in! Except if you put really hard words like "pseudoscience" she won't pronounce it but just say "Ooh". So I think they only recorded basic words that are used in many songs.

[About]Kagamine Rin & Len

Kagamine Rin & Len, they're the second series of VOCALOID2, CV02. At first, Crypton only introduced Rin, but Crypton figured that with this other programme(can't remember what 'ㅅ';;) they were able to change Asami Shimoda's voice into a deeper, boyish voice, and that is how Len was created. Ah! And also the Last name "Kagamine" (Kagami=mirror)

Now you may think they are twins, but they are not. The actual setting is "refelction of a mirror". (I wonder which is the real one? Hmm)

Then let's have a look at their profile!?

Kagamine Rin's

A famous song by Kagamine!

I love Kagamine's duets, but when they sing alone they shine~ LOL

[About]Hatsune Miku

"初音ミク"
Her voice was created from Saki Fujita, and has been edited by another software after recording. Software "Hatsune Miku" costs about $175~200 U.S dollar, but the price may change (or I'm wrong lol). Miku is the first VOCALOID2 that came out and after being released officially, she became really famous and because of her, VOCALOID(MEIKO & KAITO) a little bit famous, too.

If you are ever going to use her to make a song, I suggest that you make a song that usually come out in anime, like OP or ED, or even OSTs with lyrics.
MIDI files may help you at first. I'll write a post about how MIDI files can help when you just started using VOCALOID.

Hatsune Miku's
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Height: 158cm
Weight: 42kg
Genre she's confident at: Idol Pop/Dance music
Tempo she's confident at: 70-150BPM
Musical Range she's confident at: A3-E5
Mascot(from NicoNico Douga): Spring onion

↑Here is a video of Hatsune Miku's famous "Levan Polka" song.

If you want to know some more famous Hatsune Miku songs, then try listening to:

Ah, of course there are heaps more. Just enjoy yourself searching for the right song to listen to

Just to start off!

Hello, people! I know this world may be useless since there are heaps of guides out there. But I just wanted to make it for myself, too

Well anyway, here are some lists of VOCALOIDs I have installed on my computer:
-KAITO
-Hatsune Miku [CV01]
-Kaagamine Rin・Len Act 1[CV02]
-Megurine Luka [CV03]

Err, I also had VOCALOD MIRIAM installed, but sadly I had to uninstall MIRIAM in order to install Luka Not much memory on my computer XP

So! Since this is all I have, I will be posting things about them!

And just for you to get hang of what VOCALOID really is...
VOCALOID is a singing synthesizer application software which is really easy to use if you have some knowledge about music. BUT!!! It's definately not THAT easy to use though. I'd say, in order to make better songs, you'll have to have heaps of knowledge about music @_@

You don't always have to make your own music up, obviously! You can get some other song and try to make VOCALOID singing it in a correct pitch, speed and... whatever else is needed >.< Yeah, I'm not being that specific right now so I'll be putting up some explanations on how to make VOCALOID sound natural later

Some of my posts won't make sense at all, so please do understand that 0.0

Ah and of course I forgot to say, VOCALOID was created by Yamaha Corporation.
And here is the official website for it(in Japanese): http://www.crypton.co.jp/mp/pages/prod/vocaloid/
