Later on, dear Asuma Sarutobi will die,
But before you utter a single cry,
You will take his last cigarrette and smoke it
In honor of his death, life, valor, and wit.

Shikamaru, when you get older
You will be faster, wiser, and bolder.
In two and a half years, you'll be fifteen
And you will no longer be in-between.
You will rise above the rest
And be the very best
And be able to wear the Konoha vest.

In the battle for the fall of Konohagakure,
You, with your heart being courageous and pure,
Will create a team with Naruto, Choji, and others;
People who you have considered your brothers.
You will fight for your village,
You will fight for your right,
You will fight for the restoration of Konoha's might.

After the battle is won,
You'll sit there, looking at the sun.
Wanting to float like a cloud;
Getting away from what is loud,
Floating as free as a cloud should be
Living each day quietly.

So, Shikamaru, don't be shy;
Fly high and look to the sky.
