The War on Cruelty

Hey, Die Before I Wake here. I made this world, The War on Cruelty, for people who love animals and are sick of the abuse, neglect, fighting, etc. of innocent animals. Cruelty is not limited to the beating, starving, etc. of domestic animals. It also extends to the capture, harming, and murder of wild species, too, as well as destroying the only homes they've known.

Here, I will post my own, and club members' stories, drawings, poems, videos, slideshows, images, essays, songs, etc. pertaining to any way of animal mistreatment. I will also put up updates of specials on National Geographic, Animal Planet, etc., in case anyone's interested. I'll also soon have links and buttons up to sites where you can donate to help our furry, scaly, skin-covered, and feathered friends and their homes by either sponsoring, or by buying stuff from their shops.

I'll frequently be changing layouts, updating, and adding members, so message me if you want to join to submit things, or simply look for something good to watch on TV. Or, even to find inspiring videos, poems, etc. that you may wish to repost onto your own world!

Things you as members can do:
1. Submit a story.
2. Enter contests when I'm not too lazy to have them. XP
3. Submit a photo of your pet. Send me a lovely link to a photo hosting place and I'll put it up.
4. Submit art, poems, songs, videos. Once again, PM them to me, or email them to me. The club email address is below the "lovely" banners.
5. Uhh..... Use the banners to advertise?

Banners and Buttons

New Section

There's a new section up in the introduction to the site advertising where you can buy anti-cruelty stuff. I only have three online stores up right now, but if you have any, please, give me the link and I'll be sure to add it.

Now, since I know everyone heard of PETA and the ASPCA, I want to bring special attention to the third link, The Animal Rescue Site. This site, not only does the money go towards animals, but everytime you buy an item, you donate an amount of bowls of food to helpless animals. There's even a link that every time you click it, (it's the big purple button), you donate .6 bowls of food to rescued animals. I know it doesn't seem like much, but that site has a lot of traffic, and I click it every day.

So, well, buy stuff, damn you! I kid, I kid, but seriously, check out the sites.

"Vick is a Dick"

I'm watching the Micheal Vick case thing on Animal Planet now... When they showed clips of real fighting footage, my eyes teared up. Apparently, there were 66 dogs - 53 of them American Pit Bull Terriers. I believe the others were Bull Terriers and/or English and American Staffordshire Terriers.

The title of the post is from a slogan on a T-Shirt I saw in the... PETA2 tent, I believe it was, at Warped Tour. I wanted so badly to buy it, but with my parents.... well... It'd be burned in front of me... :[

So.... I hope Paris Hilton gets put on "Animal Witness". You know, since because of her, I heard that there was an increase of Chihuahuas and other Toy dogs in shelters because of the little "I wanna be like Paris" girls who'd get them as fashion accessories and then as soon as the puppy had an accident or barked or nipped to play, they didn't want it and put it in the shelter. I'm not entirely sure what I heard was true, but I was hearing an awful lot about it.... I'll have to ask my friend who works with PETA... She might know... -shurgs-

Anyway, I kinda wanted to explain the "Things You as Members can Do" things in the intro that I added last night.

1. Submit a story.
If you write a story about an animal, or an animal movie/show fanfiction, PM it to me, I'll proofread it, and be happy to post it in the club for you. I won't submit it for publication to the site. That's for you to do on your own world to get credit for yourself.

2. Enter contests when I'm not too lazy to have them.
Well, I might eventually hold contest for background, icon, banner, button, logo, etc. designs. Or, pet contests. Well, not to see who's pet is best, really. Just to have your pet featured under a Pet Of the Month section I'll soon add to the introduction.

3. Submit a photo of your pet. Send me a lovely link to a photo hosting place and I'll put it up.
Your pet can be dressed up, sleeping, playing, or just sitting there and being cute. Unlimited entries, just send as many links as you want, but be sure to give me the pet's name, species, breed (if not known, say "loveable mutt" or "cuddly kitty" or some nice thing about the species), uhh... and a little caption for the pic, if you wish. Basically, to get a chance for fame for your friend to be featured in the "Pet of the Month" section I'll add once I get entries. Any species is welcome! Cat, Dog, Bird, Horse, Reptile, anything!

4. Submit art, poems, songs, videos. Once again, PM them to me, or email them to me. The club email address is below the "lovely" banners.
Well, if you draw something, write something, or make a video/AMV (animal music video), upload them somewhere, and PM or email me the link to it.

5. Uhh..... Use the banners to advertise?
Put a banner/button on your page or use an icon when it's made. Nothing really to explain there.
