The melancholy of that one chick

Started into a new (to me) series with Shika. Any guesses as to which one? *eye roll* I've only seen two episodes but I've gotta say, my impression changed drastically after the first 15 minutes. Up to that point I was very skeptical and critical about the whole thing, since, for some reason, I tend to have a negative reaction to anything I see as a 'fad' in one way or another, and this show got too much hype for my tastes, so I was hesitant about starting it and Shika had to keep nagging me off and on for months before I finally pushed it to the top of the netflix queue.[/run-on] Anyway, I'm feeling pretty optimistic about it at this point. Don't care much for Haruhi herself, but Kyon and Mikuru seem adorable enough (in completely different ways, of course ^_^'). It's been a while since I watched a show that was all-around kinda whacked, so it'll be a change of pace.

In other news, I finally feel completely comfortable driving a manual transmission. I had that realization earlier today while driving my boxy but good '88 Volvo station wagon. We named 'im Chuck. ^.^

Shika's about to watch "War Stories" in Firefly. I'll try to keep my tears in check. *sniffle*

Jiro (top) and Hatsu, the Maeda's kitties. They seriously broke into our bedroom dozens of times, snoopy hooligans. (the cats, not the Maedas) XP
