These moving guys did have strap thingys, our stairs are just exceedingly steep. That's one of the reasons we're switching the rooms around. We have friends over every Friday night, and many of them are older and infirm, so they can't make it up the stairs. This way, the primary living room will be at ground level. It works out for everybody. =D

I'm glad you're back safe and that you had a nice trip, despite the many and various pains. o_O
Maybe if the moving guys had those strap thingies they advertise on TV for lifting furniture, they'd have complained less. =P
