A little personal update here!
First off another shameless plug (since I have no shame) for my review world where I'm mucking through the world of the internet and Japanese culture for you to find entertaining series!
Ok now that thats out of the way, translating is HARD!!! ~_~
I have this series I just LOVE, Zetman, and the fan translators are great and used to update a chapter once a month but lately it's been… very slow, (I understand why but its saddening for me.)
So since I am impatient and dedicated to the series (I own almost all the books in Japanese) I've taken it upon myself to read it on my own… And Graaah I've translated stuff before but omg… this is like wading through mug up to my neck! Although my Japanese is lower intermediate at best, it still shouldn't be this tricky…
They keep using really formal speech (the bane of my existence) and using Japanese expressions I've never heard before. (Like calling someone a shell or saying that someone is planning something by saying he's "tailoring his intension") On the bright side though I've learned some colorful new Japanese insults and memorized the kanji for explosion. (There are multiple explosions in the chapter)
Also hey guess who's a huge Superman fan? ME!!!! And I really enjoyed the new movie, although I wish they'd let the ending sit longer for impact. (If you've seen it you know what I mean!)
Was there anything else… hmmm I don't think there was… I just REALLY needed to get my translation woes off my chest!
