Welcome my little corner of the Otaku!

Thoughts and Impressions is where I record the wonderful adventure that is life

.
Here's my little bio :)
Animation has always been fascinating to me, I never quite grew out of cartoons. I actually like and watch American cartoons more than anime, but Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, any film made by Miyazaki, and Tekkon Kinkreet redeem the genre. As for manga, I only love and collect two series: Hana-Kimi and Rurouni Kenshin.
There are so many American cartoons I love! Family Guy, Venture Bros, Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Danny Phantom, Teen Titans, Invader Zim, X-Men Evolution, Tom and Jerry, and Robot Chicken.
Then there's the whole list of animated movies! Treasure Planet, Road to El Dorado, The Chipmunk Adventure, anything Don Bluth (especially Rockadoodle and Thumbelina), most classic Disney movies, The Iron Giant, The Paigemaster, Persepolis, The Incredibles, and so many others!
As for non-animation some favorite TV shows are: The Office, Scrubs, Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, Firefly, Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Batman (1966 Adam West), Red Dwarf, The Red Green Show, and BBC Robin Hood.
Of course, there's movies too: Muppet Treasure Island, any version of Treasure Island ever, anything Jane Austen, Secondhand Lions, Death at a Funeral, Noises Off, Newsies, Singin in the Rain, Dr. Phibes, Stargate, Star Wars (ep.4-6), Psycho, and so much more.
My favorite Asain drama right now is Young Warriors of the Yang Clan

In case you were wondering, yes I do have a life outside of watching TV and movies. I am a sophomore in college and a theatre major. Some of my favorite plays are The Rehearsal, Titus Andronicus, August: Osage County, All I Really Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, The Producers, The Big Bang Theory, Doubt, and Proof. I find time for reading as well, and I love The Artemis Fowl Series, Treasure Island, anything Jane Austen, Jane Eyre, Frankenstein, and Jekyll and Hyde.
When I am not reading, drawing, or being hypnotized by the TV, I am out gallivanting with my friends, spending time with my twin, antiquing/thrifting, doing homework, at rehearsal, going to the nearest Jane Austen Society meeting, being with my wonderful family, daydreaming, drinking green tea (which I love immensely), taking pictures, wasting my life away on the internet, playing arcade games, and traveling.
Random: My two favorite superheroes are Batman and Spiderman. Nightcrawler, Wolverine, and Gambit are my favorite X-Men. Celebrity crushes are Hugh Jackman, J J Feild, Harry Lloyd, Fahrenheit members, Christian Bale and Sean Patrick Flanery. My favorite spoof is Yu Gi Oh: The Abridged Series.

Art Trades and Requests

....are miss/hit with me. It honestly depends on how busy I am. Please forgive me if I forget and PM me with reminders so I'll remember.
If you want a request, most anything from any of the lists above will do.

Alas Poor Yorrik! I knew him.... IN AMERICA!!!!

Oooohhhh! The Big Blue Wet Thing!

Yup, well I've been pretty busy since my last post. The play is officially starting tomorrow night! Ah! However, I'm more excited than I am nervous, because practice has been running incredibly smoothly. We only do one rehearsal per night. Although yesterday a fellow cast member had a headache, so some of the other theatre people decided to give him prescription motrin. The only problem is, the girl who gave it to him is pretty much unaffected my normal levels of practically any kind of medicine. So he got 800mgs of it, 600mgs more than the normal dose. Hee hee. That got him into a dazed stupor that lasted pretty much the whole day and he totally zoned out in practice. It stressed my director out but it gave us all a good giggle. Oh f.y.i., he's the only guy who is a freshmen theatre major, so he really takes a lot of crap. Oh well, he knows he loves it.
Yup, anyway, in art news...I have like 50 bazillion things to draw! Okay, so that was a bit of an overstatement, but I seriously do have a lot of things to draw. I need to get Valentines pics drawn for my friends, and three contest entries. Also fun little things I'm drawing for my friends. Yes, so I really hope I'll get all of this done on time.
Yup so that was my oh so interesting window into my life.
I hope to see what you all are up to.
This pic made me laugh pretty hard. Poking fun at Keanu Reeves has become one of my favorite things to do ^_^.

Change of Pace

My world previewing post. yay.

I am now a Senior Otaku

I just got promoted to Senior Otaku yay! I feel so old all of a sudden. Funny, they didn't really notify me last time...or perhaps i just don't remember. Me and my old, befuddled brain. Yup, so in honor of my newly acquired oldness, I just have to say one thing:
You kids these days and your millennium items and your card games and your loud music and your hula hoops and your hopscotch and your dungarees and your lollipops and your Sony Playstations and your voice activated light switches and your leather pants and your artificial insemination and your blu-ray discs and your pierced scrotums and your bull frogs and your telekenisis and your Marvel comics and your You-Tube dot com and your nuclear physics and your ingrowing toenails and your gears of war and your Quentin Tarintino and...
GRANDPA THE MOVIE IS OVER!

my little Yu Gi Oh Abridged rant

yup so seriously as a senior otaku i resolve to run business as usual. ^-^.

The week before MLK break

Yup, so this week we started blocking our play. It's a bit intimidating for me because I have the main part and speak like every other line. We have to be off book by Tuesday, so I will definitely be spending some time over my three day weekend working on my lines. yay. Anywhoo, I still can't wait for the long weekend!
Yup so I have managed to get a few pictures drawn. I've been working with old characters and new poses. I'm looking to make my art more dynamic by trying out new poses, backgrounds, and characters interacting with each other. One of the things that bugs me the most is a wonderfully drawn and colored picture of a character with a generic personality. I've done that before, so I'm trying to move away from it.
Yup so that's my life thus far.

Back to Co-redge

I'm back at school for a winter term. It isn't so bad, because my winter term class is literally being in the children's play that my college is putting on ^-^. I have to be there 8 hours a day, which isn't completely thrilling to me, but I can tell that it's going to be a lot of fun anyway! I am a theatre major after all. It'll be a bad sign if I get terribly sick of doing the play.
Yup, so I kept my word on getting fan art up! I put two up today, I just posted the second one. I put up a Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei fan art up of JUN KUDO!!!! *squeal*, and I also put up a pic of Celindethel (from ICC) and her husband. So if any of you all follow my comics, you may be interested in that.
Well, I wish you all a happy new year!
