Low Down on TheO Story:

Hello,

TheO Story starts the first Sunday of January of every New Year and will run until the first Sunday of October of the same year.

I will be taking on writers from the first of November till the end of November. I will take as many writers that come to me. However, there is a limit on how many writers I can take. I prefer not to take over 20 writers, so from now until the end of November I will be looking for writers. In the month of December TheO Story writers and myself will then…

  • Hand out writing colors and the given weeks the writers will write.
  • Find an anime we ALL want to write about.
  • Find one writer in the group that wants to start the story.
  • The first Sunday of January start writing.

We will have one month to do this and with the holidays it could get rough.

What you need to know:

We need as many writers that want to join, but remember my limit is 20. We have 40 weeks to write, and each writer will now have the storyline for 2 weeks instead of the normal 1 week they use to have it. That’s 40 weeks to write, 2 weeks for each writer if there are 20 writers. If less writers then each writer will get extra week(s) if they want them, but this is only after the storyline has been through all the writers.

If you write Fan Fics or even just write, you know the detail that can go into a story. What will happen in this story is one of the writers will start the Story/Fan Fic, then the story will be past to the next writer via Email. The next writer will then read what was written. They will then begin to add/edit/change to what the last writer wrote. Now when I say change, I mean... When you are done reading the story and ready to start writing on it and you think there is a part that could be better by changing it then go for it. I have an example posted below here…

EXAMPLE 1, Main or Starting Story Line:

Ginji walks into Gramps, Laney draped in his arms. “Gramps I need your help.” Ginji says to him. Gramps gets up from his chair walking toward the back of the room Ginji follows him.

“What happened Ginji and who is this young girl?” Gramps ask him.
“This is Laney Tohoshi she had a run in with Nori Mutsu.” Ginji tells him laying her down the bed.

Gramps looks at Ginji, “Nori?! Nori Nanba Mutsu that cannot be, Nori would not hurt a fly. Now tell me Ginji, what really happen to this young lady?”

Ginji looks at Gramps confused, “I am telling you the truth.”

----

EXAMPLE 2, Next writer in Story:

Ginji walks into Gramps with Laney lying lifeless in his arms.
“Gramps she needs your help.” Ginji says to him. Gramps gets up from his chair walking toward the back of the room Ginji follows behind him.

“What happened to this young girl Ginji and who is she?” Gramps ask him.

“This is Laney Tohoshi she had a run in with Nori Mutsu.” Ginji tells him laying her down on the bed.

Gramps looks at Ginji, “Nori?! Nori Nanba Mutsu that cannot be, Nori would never hurt anyone. Now tell me Ginji, what really happen to this young lady?”

Ginji looks at Gramps confused, “I am telling you the truth.”

Gramps looks at Laney checking her out to make sure she is doing all right, “She is very weak she will need her rest. Is this Laney Kaley Tohoshi, Nori’s best friend?” Gramps asks Ginji looking at him. “Yes it is how did you know that Gramps?” Ginji asks him.

EXAMPLE 3, Next writer in Story:

Ginji walks into Gramps office with Laney lying lifeless in his arms. “Gramps we need your help.” Ginji says to him. Gramps gets up from his desk walking quickly toward the back of the room as Ginji follows behind him.

“What happened to this young girl Ginji and who is she?” Gramps ask him.

“This is Laney Tohoshi she and Nori Mutsu battled it out and she got the worst end of the deal.” Ginji tells him laying her down on the bed.
Gramps looks at Ginji, “Nori?! Nori Nanba Mutsu that cannot be, Nori would never hurt anyone.” Gramps looks at Ginji with a look of disbelief as he asks, “Now tell me Ginji, what really happen to this young lady?”

Ginji looks at Gramps confused, “I am telling you the truth.”

Gramps looks at Laney looking her over to make sure she is doing all right, “She is very weak she will need to rest.” Gramps looks away from Laney up at Ginji as he asks him, This is Laney Kaley Tohoshi, Nori’s best friend. Am I right ?” Gramps waits for Ginji’s reply.

Ginji replies with down cast eyes, “Yes she is… how did you know that Gramps?” Ginji asks looking up at him.

“Nori has told us all about her… What went on between them Ginji for this to happen?” Gramps asks him. Ginji started to tell Gramps about the encounters between all of them and Nori, when Rin walks in unnoticed listening to what Ginji was telling Gramps.

And it will go on so on and so forth until the Story is completed. (Hopefully before the first Sunday of October). As you seen while you read there were words missing and the next writer added them, but both of them also took words out of the Story that others added and added what they thought sounded or read better then what was there. In addition, they added more to the Story, you can add to the Story as much or as little as you want within your time limit of having the Story.

Question: Does each of the writers have to bold, italic as shown in the example?

Answer: No, all you have to do is write. I only did that to show changes made. Now I would like each writer to italic flashbacks and/or thoughts the character(s) have in the story.

---

To start the story if I have more then one writer that wants to start it. To determine who will start the story and make it fair. I will take the writers user names that want to start the story, write them down, and draw them from a bag/hat. That writer will then have 2 weeks to start and finish the first bit of the story. No more then two pages needs to be written to start the story, and yes, the writer that starts the story will get another chance to write again. This is also how I will determine which writer will be writing on which week.

This is how we kept track of writers, weeks and colors:

DestinysSweetMan; Orange; First Week 04/02 till 04/09.
Luicifers Wife; Pale Pink; Second Week 04/09 till 04/16.
Soul-Bandit-Bebop; Red; Third Week 04/16 till 04/23.
WhiteCat; Olive Green; Forth Week 04/23 till 04/30.
Lady Shadowfox; Dark Pink; Fifth Week 04/30 till 05/07.
Magnus Lensherr; Light Gray; Sixth Week 05/14 till 05/21.
Artist0625; Blue; Seventh Week 05/21 till 05/28.
DeVil InSiDe; Soft Blue; Eighth Week 05/28 till 06/04.
LordSesshomaru; Green; Ninth Week 06/04 till 06/11.
Kitabug69; Purple; Tenth Week 06/11 till 06/18.

The list above is the list of my writers from the 2006 TheO Story. My seasoned writers know what this list looks like… lol… However, now that we have added time to write the list dates will not be so close together.

Two major factor’s of writing in TheO Story is you will have to give me, Kita, your Email, and you will have to have some sort of writing program (Word, Word Pad) something that will allow you to change font color. Without these two elements in your favor I can’t take you on as a writer.

---

I am going to tell you this now since you may or may not have made up your mind yet this will be the decisive factor for you.

The O Story can get very long, with the 2006 Story, it got to be 20 Chapters, and each Chapter was 4 to 6 pages long it was 73 pages and we had 12 writers. We had more writers then 12, but lost 2 of them because they felt overwhelmed by what was going on in the Story and all the Characters that were in it and plus I think they were afraid to work with other peoples writing.

We all came into this Story knowing that the other writers would be changing our work and maybe even killing our Characters we put into the Story. Therefore, if you do not think you can do this or do not want the other writers messing with your Characters. Please do not join. We would love to have you with us and have you as part of the Story, but if you think you cannot do it pleases withdraw now. Be sure to really think about what you are getting yourself into. Do not think ‘Oh Yeah I Can Do This’ then see the Story, see what you have to work with, and then back out because it is too much for you.

Hope to see you join in the fun…

Later,
Kita
