Lost Memories

ALICE

"It wasn't me, mère. Il étais Christophe...already broken...AH!" I woke up with a start. I rubbed the back of my head as I tried to remember where I was. Let's see... I pulled my phone out of my pocket and looked at the time. 6:02. But the date was two days after I passed out. What was I doing? Did I get Ina fight? Did I win?...

I stood up slowly and grabbed onto the edge of a sofa. I remember! I was playing the piano. I caught whiff of a weird smell, then realized it belonged to me. Gross. I decided to take a shower before I catch up on things I missed.

Staggering out of the room, I made my way down the hall and back upstairs to my room. I hadn't run into anyone so I began to worry that everyone had up and left me here. Or I survived an apocalypse. I searched the hall, not a soul in sight. Odd.

When I got to my room I picked out a few clothes, some black shorts, a gray t-shirt from the circus, and a pair of black tights. Once I had freshened up I returned to my room and a familiar feeling overwhelmed me. Hunger. I was back in my human form. While I was shifted over I brushed my hair in the mirror. Who knew what was living in there now? Shivered. I peered closer into the mirror and noticed something different about my face. I seemed older somehow. Was it because I fell asleep in my human form?

I began to feel dizzy again and this time I made it to my bed before blacking out.

I was sitting in a fish tank or something. Where was I? A lab? But I was watching myself. I was starting to slowly remember what had happened. I'd been captured. We'd all been capture by XL and brought to a lab. I was being tortured by my greatest fears and things that could possibly kill me. Except for the wall of stakes closing in on me, the torturing wasn't too bad. I knew deep down that they wouldn't actually kill me. They only wanted to expirment. Or did they? If I kept believing that then I came to the realization that they couldn't hurt me and I was fine. I watched them run more tests on me.
Wai! I looked a bit closer but the memories began to seem farther away. They're the reason I get to be human again? I now hate myself again. We're they tampering with my DNA? I suddenly felt violated.

One of the scientists chuckled I can't believe this! These people are crazy.
"She won't realize that every time she falls asleep, she gains two years that she missed as a vampire. Eventually she'll be too old and wrinkled to fight us off again!" they laughed at their own plan again and continued operating on my lifeless body. I couldn't watch anymore. I needed towake mysellf up from this nightmare. I tried to close my eyes and return to reality but nothing was working. I started screaming at the top of my lungs, attempting to wake myself up.

I let out a loud cry and opened my eyes to find about half of the club in my room. Whoops.
"Nothing to see here. I'm sorry." I apologized standing up to face them.
"We thought someone had broken in." Kateri explained. "Were you asleep?"
"Yeah, for awhile." Wait! I'd blacked out in my human form again. I darted over to the mirror hoping I still looked under twenty one. I gave a sigh of relief when I saw no big differences in my appearance. I think I gained a few pounds...

"You look different." Aerith said groggily, looking like she had just woken up herself.
"I remembered about the lab. I age when I fall asleep in my human form. I wonder if I return to my vampire form, will I return to my old look?" I shut my eyes and concentrated slowly as I shifted back into my vampire self. I turned around to look in the mirror. Sure enough, I was back to my youthful self. I laughed to myself. Oh well, I guess being human comes with a price. I decided I'd stay in my vampire form just in case I blacked out again.

"And she's back." Violett said. "Not sure whether I should be relieved or scared."
"Oh, you said you were asleep for awhile?" Karin said.
"Yeah." I answered.
"You missed all of the commotion this morning." she said. "We're going to Germany next week so get packing. I know you have a ton of clothes."
"I love Germany!" I said a bit too joyous.
"Akira can explain to you tomorrow I guess. I'm not sure where she went,"
"Oh, ok!" I said. There was an awkward silence until everyone got the cue to leave. I decided to walk down with them and raid the fridge of blood. Gosh, I'll never get used to saying that.
