Mafia Time!~

.: DANTE :.

†††††††††

After we left England, I was starting to second guess joining the club. There were so many arguments and not enough cooperation.

Sebastian was the only person that I got along with so far. When he told me he was a Vampire, I had an overwhelming feeling of dread. I knew what Vampires did, at least, what stories explained they did. He saw my uneasiness and reassured me he only fed on animal blood and rare meat. After that, I guess I considered him a friend, almost. I knew not to piss him off because if I did, there was going to be Hell to pay.

The girl named Karin, who Sebastian was very protective of, was rather interesting. He told me she was a Usagi, which was Japanese for rabbit. I guess I did see it, the way she acted. I hadn’t talked to her so I couldn’t make any judgments about her. She seemed nice enough, though. I could see her as a friend someday, in the very far future. I wasn’t really ready to open up to anyone just yet.

Akira, who I was told was a werewolf, was very distant. She spent most of her time on her laptop, looking up more mythical creatures around the world. She didn’t talk to anyone besides Sebastian. When she talked to Griffin, all they did was yell. It was rather annoying, actually. It gave me a migraine. It was at times like that I would put in my headphones and blast music so I couldn’t hear them.

Then there was Griffin. The anti-social, arrogant, cocky a$$h*le who loved to pick fights with everyone. He had to express his opinion on everything, even the most mundane of things. He didn’t care who he messed with as long as he got his way. Griffin didn’t even seem like he wanted to be there. If he didn’t, why was he there?

Acacia. The Rose girl I tried to help who ended up cussing at me in French. I was rusting in the language, but I understood what she said to me. All I did was try to help her, even though I didn’t know exactly why I did. Normally, I just kept to myself and let everyone else fight their own battles. But there was something about Acacia that interested me. Something…different about her. I couldn’t tell whether it was good or bad but I knew something was there. And I was determined to find out what about her intrigued me so much, more so than anyone else.

After arriving in England and waiting at the airport for hours, Sebastian came back with a new member, a girl named Ash. She hid all of her features, like she was afraid to show them. I was tempted to ask her what was up but that would have been rude plus, she must have had a reason for doing it. Everyone had a reason for doing things in this club.

About an hour later, we arrived in Moscow and awaited our luggage in the airport. Griffin took Akira of to the side and tried to talk to her. For once, there was no yelling. It was…peaceful, it that was the word for it. The two of them were looking at her computer again, like Akira didn’t get enough of that already. I was surprised she could stand anymore time of staring at a computer screen.

Taking a seat near a window, I stared outside, lost in my own thoughts. My mind travelled back to the dream I had a day or two ago. I hadn’t thought about it much since but now that I had time alone, was the first thing my mind jumped to. I kept going over it in my mind again and again and again. To me, it made no sense. Perhaps I was over analyzing it. Maybe it was just a dream. Still, it felt to real just to be a dream.

Maybe…..was it a vision? No, it couldn’t be. All my visions were of the future and they never happened in my sleep. Still, maybe there was a possibility that it was a vision. It would explain how it felt so real. Though, it wouldn’t explain it dream itself. Why was I in the dream? Most of my visions were about other people or horrible catastrophes, not of myself. What was so different this time?

It was a question I couldn’t answer myself.

Sighing, I directed my attention away from the window and glanced around the luggage claim. The machines hadn’t started working yet so we still had to wait. I looked up. I tried to read some of the signs but all of them were in Russian. It was one of the languages I didn’t care to learn though, in retrospect, I should have. It probably would have come in handy right about now. I was really craving a coffee.

Deciding I really needed the caffeine, I got up and walked over to Sebastian, who was lost in his own though as well.

“Hey, do you know it anyone here can speak Russian?” I asked, hoping that he said yes. Coffee was sounding better and better. I needed my fix. He nodded.

“Yeah, I can. Why?” He asked.

“I need coffee. Desperately.” Sebastian chuckled as he stood up. Pointing to a small café looking shop, he said,

“There’s some coffee for sale over there. It’s six rubles for a mug. And there’s a currency trader next to it.” I noticed a large machine looming next to it. I was surprised I hadn’t noticed that earlier. Oh well, Muttering a ‘thanks’ to Sebastian I walked over to the machine and fed it a few hundred dollar bills. Alessandro had given me some money when I felt Rome. It burped and gurgled and, finally, spat out my money it Russian currency. Rubles, Sebastian said. Odd but at least I could get some coffee.

Grabbing the money, I walked over to the little shop and looked at the menu. I couldn’t read any of what it was saying. Racking my mind, I tried to remember some of the Russian I had heard when I was here for a day. Coffee…. I looked up at the cashier, who was looking back with a confused and tired expression.

“Um…” I tried to remember the words. All I needed was coffee……Oh! “Кофе.” The man nodded and walked into the back. I sighed, relieved. I was glad I had a good memory or else I wouldn’t have remembered two simple words. While I was waiting for the coffee, I glanced back at the group. No one had moved except for Acacia, who was now sitting near a window and staring outside, like I was before. She seemed lost in her thoughts. Guess everyone was. I’d bet we were all really tired from the plane rides. I didn’t think anyone got any sleep on the last one.

The man came back, with a coffee mug in hand. After I gave him a ten and he gave me back my change, I took the coffee and walked back to the rest of the group. They all looked so tired and bored. Guess I couldn’t blame them. I was really tired as well. Taking a long swing from the coffee, I immediately felt a surge of energy rush through me. It didn’t taste as good as it was in Italy, but it was better than nothing. I took another long gulp.

Acacia was still staring out of the window in a daze. It irked me that she cussed at me when all I did was try to help her but I guess I understood her reasoning. In a way, I was the same. I couldn’t really blame her. Without a second thought, I walked over to her. She seemed oblivious to my presence so I cleared my throat. She jumped and turned her head. When she saw me, her face fell.

“What?” She asked, clearly annoyed. I sighed.

“Look, I just…wanted to apologize.” I said. Her eyes grew wide by a fraction. Guess she didn’t know this was coming. “I know now that you can handle your own battles but….I was just trying to help. Guess after years of not talking to anyone new, I got out of practice. Also, I think just something about Griffin annoys the hell outta me and I especially hate it when men pick on women.” I said, scratching the back of my head. That got a small smile out of her.

“I think he annoys everyone.” She said, and then she went serious. I had a feeling she was hiding her emotions, much like I was used to.

“Look, I’m not asking you to. I know how hard it is to learn to trust someone. I’m just trying to say…maybe we could start over. I never had very many friends. The only one I’m getting along with here is Sebastian and that’s probably only because he’s a guy.” After a few moments of silence, Acacia sighed.

“I guess…we could start over.” She said, the corners of her mouth twitching as if she was going to smile. I didn’t get the chance to see if she was going to or not because a second later, Sebastian called us both over. Shrugging, we walked over to him, where excitement gleamed in his eyes. He looked at me.

“Can you get Akira and Griffin over here? I have an idea on how we’re going to blend in here.” He asked. Nodding, I walked over to the two of them while Sebastian asked Acacia to do something. I saw the two of the, conversing, the laptop closed.

“You two should come back to the group,” I said. “Sebastian had an idea about how we can find the girl in Russia without being interrogated or appearing suspicious.” With that, I walked back to Acacia and Sebastian, where Karin and Ash had joined them. As soon as Griffin and Akira joined the group, Sebastian said two words that shocked almost everyone.
“The Mafia,” He said.

“What?” Akira exclaimed. Sebastian sighed.

“No one will bother us if we dress and act like a Mafia group,” He explained. “The clothes won’t be a big deal since we have a decent amount of money, and it’ll make our job a lot easier. Plus, I can speak Russian. It's perfect.” I had to admit, no one would try to talk to us if they thought we were part of a Mafia. This should be fun.

“Though you are a leech, that is a rather brilliant plan and I commend you.” Griffin said. Almost everyone started at his comment.

“Thanks, Dragonboy. Now, let’s get a move on. We shouldn’t waste too much time here. We have a girl to find and clothes to buy.” Sebastian ordered. As if sensing our urgency, the luggage claims started to move. The seven of us quickly found our luggage and headed downstairs where the shops were. Sebastian led us into a large clothing store. He pointed the girls to a black dress, black gloves and high heels. He then showed Griffin and I a black pinstriped suit and black dress shoes with a black fedora.
“What’s a fedora?” I asked, confused.

“It’s a type of hat. Just, go change.” I only nodded and entered a changing room. After I changed into the suit and shoes, I put my iPod and cell phone in the inside pocket and stuffed my other clothes into my bag. Walking out of the changing room, I saw almost everyone was out except for Karin and Acacia. I pulled Sebastian away from the crowd for a second.

“Look, this is a bizarre question but…are you gay?” I asked. His eyes grew wide and he burst out laughing.

“A-Are y-y-you serious? Of c-course not.” He said through fits of laughter. “I’m dating Karin.”

“Dating her? I thought she was your sister.” He was laughing even harder now and his face had gone red.

“Sister? You’re a funny one, Dante.” He wiped tears away from his eyes. “No, I’m not gay; I’ve just been shopping for Karin a lot. And yes, I’m dating her.” Her shook his head and smiled.

“Let’s get back to everyone.” I nodded and walked back with him. Karin walked out of the room and Sebastian immediately told her how amazing she looked. Now I saw that they were dating. I felt like an idiot when Acacia walked out of the dressing room, her luggage in hand. I had to admit, with her white hair and the black dress, she looked pretty cute.

Sebastian paid the cashier and all of us walked out of the store in new clothes. It felt weird being in a suit. I wasn’t used to it so I kept fussing with it.

“Why are you messing with the suit?” Acacia asked me. I frowned.

“I’m not used to these things. I feel so…confined. I hate it.” She laughed softly and walked ahead of me. I smiled a little.

“Okay, so here’s the deal.” Sebastian began, “We have to act….like a Mafia. We have to look intimidating and scary. We have to make people cower away from us in fear. Also, we can’t think twice about a crime if we see it. And one last thing….you must strut down the streets like we own the place. Akira, lead us to the girl.” Akira nodded and ‘strutted’ in front of the group and continued along.

It was…an interesting experience, trying to act like we were in the Mafia. Everyone in the group were scowling and acting like they were the top dog. It looked like it wasn’t that hard for Griffin to act like it. It was his nature, after all. Karin, though, still looked nervous. Jogging up to her, I started walking next to her.

“Hey, are you okay?” I asked, a little concerned for her. She nodded meekly.

“Yeah, just not used to…acting like I’m part of a Mafia. It’s not a trait one usually picks up, you know?” I nodded and chuckled slightly. She was right, in the very least. Everyone fell into silence while Akira led us to the girl who lived here. About ten minutes later, we came up to a bar, whose name I could not understand. She pointed into the bar.

“She’s in there. And her name is Aaralyn.” We all nodded. Sebastian decided to take the lead form there and lead us into the bar. It wasn’t very crowded to be honest. There was no music or anything so it was easy for Sebastian to get everyone’s attention.

“Я ищу девушку по имени Aaralyn.” He bellowed in Russian. Everyone’s eyes looked over at a girl who had platinum blonde hair and a slim figure. She was wearing a black strapless dress and boots.

“Okay, everyone get out.” Griffin yelled but it did nothing. Everyone looked at him like he was crazy.

“Why is everyone just looking at me?” He asked.

“Maybe because they think you look funny?” I offered, grinning. He glowered at my but before he could say anything back, Sebastian spoke up.

“Убирайся!” He yelled. Afraid of him, they scurried out of the bar like dogs with their tail between their legs. It only left the group and Aaralyn in the bar.

This was going to be fun.

.: END :.

I hoped everyone liked it! DA, I had Aaralyn wear and random person if that’s okay. :D hope you found some of this funny because I did!
