Chapter 76

"Anything as long as his back," I cried in exasperation.

Hana nodded, "You will suffer major consequences, but all you have to do is give him your part of your blood." She looked over her shoulder at Koori. "Just make it quick; hyaku is the only one that can kill him."

I nodded, turning my attention back to Hyaku's limp body in my arms. I just needed to transfer some of my own blood into his system. Grabbing one of the knives in my boot, I slashed a deep cut onto his chest. I figured the closer it was to his heart, the better.

Without any hesitation, I slashed my own wrist, cutting myself deeply. Crying out in pain, I placed my wrist over Hyaku's chest and let the blood drip into the wound. Holding my wrist onto the wound, I squeezed my arm, hoping the blood would pour out quicker.

Hyaku was the only one that could save all of us and defeat Shun. We needed him now more than ever, and I'd be damned if I was going to let him go easily. Laying Hyaku onto the ground on his back, I maneuvered myself so that I was laying beside him, my head resting on the crook of his shoulder.

I'm sure it looked silly for the two of us to be laying there as a battle was raging around us, but the pain I felt as the blood transfered between us was overwhelming. It felt as though a war was being fought inside of my body. I was losing a lot of blood, but it was for a bigger purpose than myself.

I closed my eyes as the darkness was taking over. MY body wanted to convulse, but I tried my hardest to keep from seizuring as the pain intensified. "Wake up, Hyaku," I pleaded, kissing his cheek. "I love you."
