I Fear, My Dear

It seems as if The Otaku is slowing down in activity?

Maybe its just me. I have been a member on here for four years. And I remember when it seemed as if my dashboard was just bustling with activity- comments, messages, my friends updating their worlds and Myotakus and whatnot.

I'm a hypocrite--I took leave from TheOtaku for a few months, barely checking in every now and then to see what was going on. But I've started coming on regularly again-and other than the normal art, card, and quiz updates, nobody seems to be really interacting with one another anymore. This really worries me, because the people I was friends with through theO...we used to be a tight knit little family. We would talk for hours everyday, until we were so tired, we could barely keep our little heads up. When the chat rooms were invented, everybody went ecstatic; it was a quicker, easier way to talk with your friends.

I just remember when we would all update our little 'Worlds,' like maybe, two, three times a day. Now, I'm scrolling through the "Most Recent Updates" and the dates are further and further apart from one another. It makes me wonder, "Is it just me? Am I just getting too old to enjoy this site anymore? Is it time for the next wave of youngsters to sweep in and take over?"

This site used to be my second home. It's sad to see it so desolate in comparison to its previous vivacity and life. Old people! Let's revive it! Let's show that we still remember "MyOtaku." That we still remember this site when it had no "worlds" and no chatroom. Let's show these cute little newbies that even when you start growing older...The Otaku can still be your home.
