Japan appoints an otaku as Prime Minister

Am I the only guy here in theOtaku who thinks that the latest happening in the Japanese political landscape is news worth spreading? Since the Bootleg News Reporter isn't reporting it yet, let me do it myself.

  • Taro Aso, the Japanese politician who's well known among otakus for being a fan of manga, formally took over as Prime Minister of Japan today. This was the same guy who, as foreign affairs minister, made some notable acts concerning the world of manga, such as announcing the first International Manga Awards, circulating Detective Conan manga pamphlets to explain his ministry's mission, and advising a former French presidential aspirant to "read more manga" after the criticisms that guy made about it.
