This Is The Part Where I Say "Boo!"

1. Currently listening to Thriller by Michael Jackson. The perfect song to get me in the mood for this Halloween post.

2. I'm well aware that today is Halloween, but for some reason I don't really feel it. Probably because I'm already old, or probably because it was never that much of a tradition here in the first place.

3. Tomorrow, we go to the cemetery to pay our respects for our deceased relatives. Compared to Halloween, this is a tradition that we Filipinos certainly practice in this time of the year.

4. Shameless plug: In Memory of the Dead Bloggers. It's my article from last year's Halloween Writer's Jam. Though it didn't win, it was still a very special essay for the Halloween season.

5. It's Saturday, and the news nuggets section still ain't full of news for this week. Heck, most (if not, all) of the news for this week barely mentions anime. I guess this week is one of those slow news week.

6. I'm going back to school next week, in what will hopefully be my final semester in college --- at least, for the Psychology academic program. Oh boy...

7. Why ain't I too excited for the upcoming semester: (1) The darn thesis; (2) The darn internship, and the darn ongoing search for a company with a human resources department to work in; (3) The darn re-take of my Abnormal Psychology course

8. Oh freaking golly!!! I just realized I need to pre-register for the cosplay event in December! Must pre-register before this day is over!

9. After 6 minutes: Okay, I've sent the pre-registration thru e-mail. I'm not really sure if I'm gonna participate in the actual day of the activity, especially due to my Saturday classes. But hey, they did say I can back out later.

10. "The Mask, what will you even cosplay on that day anyway?" That's a secret. You may already have ideas right now, but the reason I'm keeping my mouth shut is because of the skit that I have already planned on doing. So, sorry.

That's all for today. HAVE A NICE DAY!

Boo!

So it's finally Halloween. And I guess a lot of you are in a costume party right now or probably going door-to-door trick-or-treating. Maybe you're in the house, giving those candies to the little monster-dressing kids.

As for me...eh...I'm just at home....period. Oh, did I forget to mention my mom made some baked spaghetti for us? Trick or treat is not something too common in the Philippines, anyway. Visiting cemeteries during these days, however, is another story.

Anyway, I guess a lot of you noticed my new fanword essay, In Memory of the Dead Bloggers. Basically, it's a tribute to all those who have passed away, especially those who have been a part of the digital community. It was my entry to the Writers' Jam, which was ultimately won by Shinmaru with the story A Long Halloween. Despite that, the essay was the most active Halloween fanword right now. That's good, since it means many people have valued the message behind it. And I think that was what's more important, especially with All Souls Day coming on November 2. The essay, by the way, was part of that "weekly fanwords" that I said I would be making this month (which I never did).

On other stuff, I'm still irritated by the enrollment system in the university. Just when I thought that everything was better now that they shifted back to the old and more trustworthy system, they told me that the old system is still being prepared and that I can adjust my enrollment on November 10. And that's more than one week from today! Oh....sigh....

Season 3 of "Major" ended this week. So did the rerun of "Detective Conan" in local TV. So now, I don't have any anime shows to watch for these days. Oh well...there's always that manga site I visit...

And that ends my Halloween post. If you want some Halloween features, you can go over at The Watercooler, where I posted several video features for the season. HAVE A NICE HALLOWEEN!

P.S. November 2 is All Souls Day. Don't forget to remember and pray for those who passed away.
