Birthdays, Chocolate Fountains, Vacations, and Unmasking

Currently listening to several character theme music pieces from Death Note, particularly that of Light and L. Yes, the fandom continues to live on . . .

Last Sunday, I attended the 18th birthday party of my cousin in the province of Negros Oriental. It was fun, with all the food, the dancing, the coats and ties, the singing of my little cousins, the photoshoots (especially with the one posing like Light), and the Chocolate Fountain.

Oh, the sweet, delectable Chocolate Fountain. Goes well with the bite-sized brownies, butterscotches, marshmallows and fruits. Even more special when there's nothing to dip on anymore and it's all hardened; that way, you can scrape it with a spoon and have some chocolate for your sweet tooth. L and Mello would've been so happy . . . Thanks Blue Hawk for introducing me to this sweet invention back in your 18th birthday.

On other birthday-related stuff, our bossman Adam is celebrating his birthday. Go ahead, click the link and show some love . . . or at least a ceasefire if you're a bit upset with him.

Anyway, in the next three weeks, I'll be out of town and spending a vacation at my mother's province of Agusan del Sur. So, I'll be offline at that time. They actually have Internet there, but last time I checked it was SO slow. Plus, I might be busy working in my grandpa's hardware store.

Lastly, I've decided that, after more than a year of hinting that I'll be "unmasking The Mask", I'm finally gonna do it . . . NOW! So, here it goes...

Oops! I was shot at my back! My brother actually took this pic without my knowledge at the hotel where my cousin had that party I talked about. So I guess that The Mask is still NOT unmasked! *evil laugh*

Until next time, everybody!

The Mask. Age: 18

First of all, thanks a lot to the well-wishers who greeted me in advance for my birthday.

Anyway, yeah I'm officially 18. Now I'm in the legal age. The age where the line between adolescence and adulthood becomes thinner and thinner.

Remember that thought that I shared yesterday when I thought it was sad for me to become older than Shinichi Kudo, the Detective Conan character whom I had considered as the amazing big brother that I never had? Well, last morning I actually spent time crying over that fact in the bathroom. I guess that fact is just a bit hard to accept for me.

Today, I did what I thought I would never be able to do in my birthday: I CELEBRATED IT WITH MY CLASSMATES! Since it's summer vacation, it has been a tradition for me to celebrate it without any classmates beside me. But since there was a photoshoot and a meeting for the campus's Psychology Society (which I am a part of), I decided to use the opportunity to do something that I have never done in my 18 years here on Earth.

In the end, I managed to treat five of my fellow members (one of them an old high school colleague of mine) to burger and ice tea at the popular fastfood chain Jolibee, which was near the campus. I gotta adit though that I wished that I just treated them for Chinese siomai and rice at a cheap cafeteria near the campus, but that realization came into my senses when I saw how expensive the burger and ice tea was. (I spent PHP 230 or US$ 5). But what the heck, it was still fun!

And, yeah, I made another post in Only in Asia, this time on a Japanese cartoon on potty training. Also, I submitted a Rurouni Kenshin article that compared my favorite character, Kenshin Himura, to my favorite politician, Dr. Ron Paul. Hopefully, the guys at the Fan Words business will approve it.

And so that ends my Birthday post for today. As my gift to you, here is the 1st ending song of the anime series Death Note entitled "Aluminia". I'm showing this because it has become the new theme song of my life, with lyrics telling me that I can still do a lot in my life. Enjoy!

My Last Day as a 17-Year-Old

ONE day before *gulp* I'm in the legal age.

Well, 17 was a good age. Many memories, much fun. One thing I feel sad about leaving this age is the fact that this will make me older than Shinichi Kudo of Detective Conan.

I remember back when I was 11 when I saw DC for the first time. At that time, I considered 17-year-old Shinichi as the amazing big brother that I never had. Now, I'll be 18, and Shinichi's still Conan. It's quite sad in my part.

Anyway, on other stuff, I'm starting to love my guest poster job. That's because of the many fun and hilariously weird you see while you research along the way. You should check out Only in Asia now to see the latest video.

Well, that's all for today. Tomorrow, I become 18. HAVE A NICE DAY EVERYONE!
