Hooray for July, finally! I've been doing a ton of work on Incognito's background story lately, and I thought that since I've been getting a lot of questions about "is Sol a dog or a wolf?", I'll make the third update profiling the 5 different races of Iría, a.k.a. the world.
#1. Humans - Humans are a relatively short-lived race with a very wide spectrum of personalities. Since humans lead such short lives of anywhere from fifty to sixty years, most have a taste for adventure and are thus usually reckless. Humans have no special traits, but other races often consider them weak, rude, clumsy, or unimportant.
#2. Alifax (al-ih-faks) - Alifax (not to be confused with dogs or wolves) are an aethereal race which are said to have descended to earth from the moon, also called Terrasomnium (yeah, I decided against calling it Aethereality). They possess the ability to communicate with animals and earthly spirits, as well as the ability to use magic. Alifax can also speak the languages of other races.
#3. Zephyr (zef-er) - An advanced race resembling humans in some ways. They are, in fact, nothing like them - their hollow skeletons, light frames, and high metabolism mean they usually weight less than a third of a human. Their eyes are also a symbol of their race - more birdlike than humanlike. They were the first race to travel the world and named most of the land's features. It is said that Zephyr originally possessed wings but lost them by disobeying the Goddess. To replace wings, they invented a flying machine powered by the owner's spirit energy - called a "runeboard" by many.
#4. Ryngar (rin-gahr) - Dragons. They spend almost all of their time in human form, except in battle - it is said that it takes a hundred humans to defeat a single Ryngar in dragon form. In normal form, it's almost impossible to mistake one for a human, since they possess horns, wings, a tail, sharp teeth, and usually have scales on parts of their body. Each Ryngar has a unique special ability that separates one from the other - it can be from excellent vision to the ability to copt others' apearances.
#5. Celía (shel-ee-uh) - Considered the most wise and powerful of all races, they are almost extinct. Celía resemble long-eared humans, but with antennae, a crystal on their forehead, and moth/butterfly wings (it depends on gender). The jewel on their forehead is the source of their magical power - if it is shattered, the Celían will die. About 90% of Celía are female.
The only race that refused to fight in the Great War, most of them were captured by the Ryngar and converted into soldiers through a series of modifications and spells.
Well, that's it for this update! I'll try to update more often, guys; I'm really sorry that I keep forgetting.
