This is more like my personal blog and things manga related that I like to talk about.
Finally, I finished my work for the challenge Fusion Ha! This challenge was created by tiggerola and it was super fun to do this. We had to pick two anime/manga characters (any 2) and create their fusion form. I had picked my 2 yesterday and began sketching some ideas in my head then on paper.
I chose Byakuya Kuchiki and Shikamaru Nara. The name of their fusion character is Shikakuya. It was fun to make. I had watched a lot of tutorials on youtube for how to make better line art, coloring, shading, ect. I'm still learning, but have gotten better XD. It took me a while to complete this, but it was so much fun to do. I learned a lot so a big thanks to the creator of this challenge.
Ok. So I'm learning about the basic shapes/geometrics of drawing. These are the core fundamentals to drawing people, places and things. That's right! All the nouns. But seriously, any artist how wants to draw their fav characters or whatever should be equipped with the fundamentals. So I'm definitely learning how to improve my art, learning and re-learning the basics.
I'm back to myself with spontaneous doodles and "in the moment" sketches. Not that long ago, one of my teachers caught me in class just doodling in my notebook. He took it well that I wasn't really paying attention to his lecture because he struck up a conversation with me during the break asking me about my major and stuff.
It seems that with doodles, you can do them almost anywhere. They are spur of the moment ideas, or just drawing anything until you find an image from it, and go from there. Sketches can take more effort than doodling due to details like shading and such. When sketching, most of the time is when observing an object while drawing, but not always. Also, sketching can be seen as a blue print for the actual drawing.
This is one of my doodles that I made. My chibi practice I guess.
I probably doodle more though sketches are fun too. Hmmm... makes me think to ask my fellow artists out there, which do you like more? Sketching or Doodling?
I decided to do some minute research and looked up their definitions. I liked the definitions on wikipedia the best
Sketch- a rapidly executed freehand drawing that is not intended as a finished work
Doodle- simple drawings that can have concrete representational meaning or may just be abstract shapes
Things in my life have kept me from creating pics as frequent as I planned, but hope to place some of my new workings really soon. My mind has it's moments when I see these works of art or I can see the art in everyday life. Anyway, I have 2 cool ideas for 2 different Naruto fan comics so am looking to do that, and as far as my pokemon one, I still have plan to make the comic, if not, at least a comic strip. Have some cool visions of art so hopefully, I can place them for you to see soon.
I was checking my computer of different things and i had to reinstall my applications to solve a missing component. I was unable to get into Manga Studio, but now everything is fine! I'm so happy, relieved and grateful.
I've got some new sketches and ideas for artwork, but now I'm looking into creating some works for "Pray for Japan". Japanese art inspires me to become a better artist and so I hope I can inspire others as well as help towards a beautiful cause. May they have a speedy recovery.
