What Do We Have Here?

While reformatting my computer, I came across my old myOtaku.com blog. I find it odd that I can no longer edit the blog page itself, I decided to update my life here.

I think it's been about three years since I last said anything...so here goes!

I've been more active on Facebook because talking to people you know personally is more fun than aliases ^^;; You can find me by clicking here.

In other news, I ended up breaking up with Kenji because as people get older, they change...unfortunately, both him and I changed so much that we weren't seeing eye to eye anymore so I moved on. He and I are still friends though and talk occasionally. He's gotten more depressed ever since the breakup though. Not sure if that motive is to make me feel bad for him or if I was that bad of a girlfriend to mentally hurt his psyche.

I met this new guy at a local anime convention. He and I were both staff members and after talking and hanging out together, we slowly started falling for one another. I shall nickname him Spectre on here (although in real life, he shares the same name as Kenji's real name).

I felt guilty falling for Spectre because I was still dating Kenji at the time. However, all my friends told me to listen to my heart (very cheesy, I understand), but I decided to start going out with Spectre because I thought I'd be happier with him in the end. So far, it's been good. He and I have been dating for almost 7 months.

In my adult world, I've been going to the local university, studying to become a nurse. Due to my now busy lifestyle, I've lost touch with the anime world. I've been volunteering at local anime conventions and spending time with voice actors such as Sonny Strait, Quinton Flynn, Darrel Guilbeau, and many others within the past year! I even cosplay with my best friend when I get the time.

I might come back to blog on here every once in a while even though I know I'm not as popular as I once was back when I was in junior high ^^;;

Me As a Busy Bee

What's up? I've been very busy myself. Let's see what's been going on (of course, nobody reads my blog, but oh well XD)

I got interviewed for the Haugse-Cossey Foundation scholarship. It's a renewable scholarship up to $8000 I think. So that would really help. The lady was so sweet and the interview went smoothly too. I hope she chooses me as the winner

Two Saturdays ago I went with Kenji to the Science Olympiad where I competed in various events like Health Science, Food Science, and Experimental Design (Talk about being nerdy ). The first one dealt with questions about the heart and brain. I guess I didn't do well in it XD I helped Kenji out with the Food Science event. We had to put a piece of pineapple in some Jell-O and record our observations, answer some multiple choice questions about the chemical makeup of food, and do some molarity problems (we couldn't do that because we lacked a scientific calculator ). That was fun, but we didn't win that either. I partnered with another teammate of mine to do Experimental Design. We had to create our own experiment to find out which tape was stickier than masking tape. It turns out that the masking tape they gave us was the stickiest masking tape I've ever dealt with XD Plus, our experiment failed miserably. This just proves I suck at Statistics XD

I think the only group we did well in was the Circuit Lab *shrugs* I'm no good when it comes to those kinds of things.

For the last 3 days, I went to a local hotel for the HOSA State Leadership Conference. (More info on that can be found on the HOSA myspace page by clicking here) It was a blast and I may not have won my event (which was this Medical Terminology exam...it was even harder than the Health Science test I took at the Science Olympiad! XD), but I did win 4 free tickets to Roaring Springs! Hooray for raffles!

I'm excited for Prom! Oh my gosh, I don't think I've ever been this excited to something! I already picked out my dress (it's red, long, and not as elegant as my homecoming dress, but it still works). I'm even going to get my hair and nails done I managed to find this place that will do my hair for $15, and my nails for $12. The corsage and boutonnière will cost around $12 at the floral place by my house. Kenji is going to look so handsome in his tuxedo! Now all I have left is to figure out is how much the smallest photo package will cost and where we're going to eat for dinner (I was thinking about a Teppanyaki restaurant or sushi ) I just can't wait!

I'm also going to get my tooth implant in on the 24th. (Sadly, my orthodontist said that he'll take off my braces once my dentist puts on the crown to the implant, which can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months! ) Oh well, it'll be worth it because I'll finally be able to smile with a full set of teeth

So now I hope things can slow down a little for me. I have to get my car's oil changed, finish up on those scholarships that I've applied for, send in my tax info to BSU's financial aid office, do some homework, and clean up the house a little. So much to do, so little time.

What's Been Going On

Hi everyone. I managed to get some more things done with scholarships. I sent a couple already and the rest just need letters of recommendation and official transcripts (which I did today after school ) So yes.

I can finally get my braces off. It'll probably take place at my next appointment (in April). I guess if I really wanted to, I could call them, come in and get them off right away, but my orthodontist office is about a half hour drive, so I think I'll wait. However, Mom's being really irritating. The reason why I got braces in the first place was because I have a missing tooth (it's the canine, so that leaves a nice size hole in my mouth). So we got estimates at my dentist...they're going to cost about $3200. Yeah, we don't have that much money. Mom doesn't want to do payments because of interest. I tried explaining to her that if we pay on time, we won't have to deal with it, but she never listens to me. Then she goes and says, "Why must you always get the most expensive treatment?" It's not the most expensive, it's the only other long-lasting option. I suppose I could get bridgework done (where they just put a fake tooth on the surface of the gums). That can pose major problems especially if I accidently crunch on something and oops! There goes the bridgework. I've got no root to keep it there. That's why I don't want that. Sure, it's cheaper, but I think if it falls out, then we'd just have to pay more to get it fixed. Rather with the implant, I don't have to worry about it falling out. So all I have to say is "screw it". I'm going to get the bridgework now and later in the future, if it breaks or something, I'll pay for an implant myself.

I can't wait for Spring Break! I have some things planned like spending the night at my cousin's (where we'll probably work out because we're both trying to lose weight), talk about whatever, and maybe go see a movie. I also would like to play some tennis with Kenji because I haven't done that in a while and I really like that sport. I never really gave it much thought until my Econ teacher (who happens to be one of the tennis coaches) asks me why I didn't join tennis. Well, I have David (my brother) to take care of after school while my parents go to work, so that's why I couldn't. Otherwise, I would have loved joining tennis.

I have this community service thing at the zoo this Saturday. It has something to do with Easter. I hope it's a lot of fun. I need to find out other things to do for Honor Society because so far, I've only done 5 hours. This event will be another 4 hours. So that's 9. I need 15 by the end of the semester. I know my Pre-College Program does volunteering at "Race For the Cure". I think that's 6 hours. Perfect! That's exactly 15 hours XD I'm so awesome like that lol.

So I guess that's it from me! See you later!

Hello There!

Umm yes. I'm not very thrilled with this new blog design personally. I mean, it's great and high tech, but it really limits what I can do with it. I can't put my playlist and whatnot. Maybe I'm like my dad and don't like change *shrugs*

Anyway, I've been doing scholarship stuff. Mostly just getting teachers to write me letters of recommendation.

Kenji's in our school's chess tourny. I hope he wins He's such a good player except that I think he's been a little rusty. He's better at Go though. He just got through the primary round! Except he got to go first and the his opponent would have won if he went first. So yeah. I love him so much

I've been trying to lose weight. So far, not so good because my parents keep bringing home doughnuts (I'm like Vash the Stampede when it comes to doughnuts XD) Plus, I'm not eating enough of the good foods. Maybe I should get some vitamins...

Well, I have to get back to my homework Bye!
