Story Time

So we're in 2012 already. Seems like only yesterday it was the beginning of 2011. I swear, the older I get the faster a year goes by. ANYWAY... I've been having a decent year so far, just rather busy. I decided it was a bright idea to sign up for the basic EMS (emergency medical services) course that meets three times a week for the next 4-5 months.

That started last Saturday with the Ambulance safety course in the morning and Ambulance driving one in the afternoon. Yes I got to drive one through a maze of cones. It wasn't terribly difficult and I actually did just fine. The driving part isn't a pass or fail deal. XD They just like to let people see how they handle differently than a car.

Texas decided it was a bright idea to pretend it's Utah again. We're in the middle of a severe winter storm that has been dumping snow on us most of the day. We've gotten around 5 inches so far and may possibly get as much as 10. I took some pictures to show you.

Since they're not used to getting snow here they don't have anything to deal with it so the apartment complex doesn't shovel the sidewalks or anything.

So I had snow right up to my door when I got home from work.

I don't have a shovel either since I don't have most of my stuff that is still in Utah. I do at least have the deal for my car since I keep it in the car. So unlike my poor coworkers I didn't have to use my arms or other stuff to get the snow off of my car. XD

Fun fact, lots of places closed down today. The roads are super slushy on account of the lack of snow plows. Makes me glad I don't need to go out again tonight. I'm going to just stay home and relax. Oh and I did at least take a broom and sweep off the snow by my door. Wasn't as effective as I would have liked. The snow is really wet so the broom didn't move all of it off.
