I'm glad this week is close to finishing up since I've been rather busy on account of CERT training every evening. If you're not heard of it then just go and take a look here: CERT So far it's been pretty interesting since it just goes over the basics of what to do for an emergency. It's something that if you have it in your area I'd recommend it.
It's not about turning you into someone who responds to emergencies, it's more about teaching you how to know what to do until those who are professionally trained show up. So you learn what is safe to do and what to not do. It also helps you learn how to help out those who are trained to respond to an emergency.
Anyway, I've been carpooling down with two other people since it's in Midland and over an hour away so it pretty much takes up my evening from about 5-10pm on account of travel time and class time. It's also rather interesting since it's being held in the police training facility down there. Maybe I can at least get a picture of the sign before you drive in and post it.
It's pretty interesting to see the set up that they use to train police officers. Plus last night there were some there practicing their shooting at the range. So all during the class we could hear gunshots since that range is right next to the building the class is in. XD
Anyway, time to go and fix dinner since once that's done we head down for tonights training session. And then tomorrow from 9-2pm for the last session to wrap the training up. Fun stuff!
