~emotion topic: SADNESS~ (next topic emotion: HAPPINESS)
..Sadness is an emotion best expressed in silence and thoughtfulness of problems and difficulties. It is best portrayed by the softness of the fleeting eyes, the loosing of one's spark, and the wetness that drips from your face. It is best described as the rain cloud that catches your spirit and carries it away, only to drop it back down later with the force of a hail-stormed rain. It is best noticed in the eyes, the bits of life floating solemnly and slowly away, waiting to be called back after the period of grieving. Grieving of dreams, death, and heart ache. It is felt and expressed in the most unique ways possible, and by many, underestimated in even its simplest forms. We grieve for small things too. Like lost friends, small words that hurt, and even our own pitiful attempts at understanding others' problems.
In the most poetical stand point with which I approach the topic: sadness is the snowflake of man kind that never truly melts. It is best under-analyzed than over-analyzed, and is best understood by not understanding. It is the metaphysical and physical properties that strike our minds as odd. It is felt, with the sharpest and sudden pains. And is either quick or slow in leaving. Sometimes, the best way to help, is to just hold on, and the best way to answer is by saying nothing at all. In the bluntest and shortest possible terms: we cry because we can, and we smile because we "can't". And no matter what that can't is, it always comes into play. For instance, some people smile because they "can't" stand being sad, some smile because they "can't" help but think that somewhere else, someone has it a lot worse, or simply because they "can't" stop laughing at a foolish notion.
Sadness in all forms is crucial to the existence of happiness, and quite plainly; us.
