I've been around here with theOtaku since before it was even an anime website, and officially on myOtaku since 2003-08-01, occasionally contributing to the network in a (humble, yet) high-profile way. The new Version Vibrant Spikey is my creation, for instance. Please feel free to ask me any questions about Art of Otaku as well, as I was one of the contributing co-authors of that publication.

Last night I saw some live music, as my friend is in a band, called Cikamor... that's a link to their myspace page, check them out if you like indie/rock/pop with feel-good lyrics. My friend is the singer/songwriter.

Laugh Kookaburra, Laugh Kookaburra

Why hello there, Kookaburra. They have such as strange, maniacal-laughing territorial call. An extraordinarily loud "koo-koo-koo-koo-kaa-kaa-kaa-kaa-kaaaa." This one was close to home... and tolerated me enough to let me get pretty close (I don't have an extraordinary zoom, by any means).

Gone bush

Have you heard the expression, "go bush"? No, it is not a statement that reflects your approval of the, perhaps, worst president in American history. Rather, it simply means to go out into the bush, the wild, nature... at least in the Australian usage of the phrase. My friend and I went bushwalking, which is just a different way of saying hiking. Here's a photo from that trip.

Writing with Light

Okay - I know I've already posted a Blue Mountains sunset picture... but I took so many of them, and I like this one, too.

Things at school are moving along. I have a paper due next week (eep), and I have to get a camera so I can expose a roll of film... for Tuesday. I didn't get much done in the darkroom yesterday - some failed experiments, but at least I have photopaper now... Anyway. Hope everyone's doing alright!
