Welcome to the Fox's Den, the personal blog of the artist, snow fox.

I've been around here with theOtaku since before it was even an anime website, and officially on myOtaku since 2003-08-01, occasionally contributing to the network in a (humble, yet) high-profile way. The new Version Vibrant Spikey is my creation, for instance. Please feel free to ask me any questions about Art of Otaku as well, as I was one of the contributing co-authors of that publication.

Hope you enjoy your stay, thanks for visiting!

Surf Territory

I went to Bondi the other day with a friend to check out the Bondi markets. Bondi belonged to the surfers, that day.

Low Tide

The strange things you find at low tide...

Gallery Crawl

Wow, last weekend I did more gallery-viewing in the span of three days than I would have done during an entire semester at CMU.

I went to an artist talk by Cesare Pietroiousti at ArtSpace and got a free work of art from him (he gave out 100 drawings with "Woolloomooloo tap water on paper" - Woolloomooloo is the name of the area where the gallery is located).

I also went to St. Saviour's Church on Friday with some friends to see a really cool installation by Bill Viola (please check out that link, it'll show you stills from the video works I saw). It was really awesome to see his works in a church, rather than a gallery - and I can tell you that I did indeed think it was appropriate. I think Bill Viola's works can become a little formulaic or predictable, once you've seen a couple of them, but they sill embody that catharsis/intense power... and even though I've seen a few of them now, I really would like to see more of them.

Then on Saturday some other sculpture students and I got together for a gallery crawl. I'll include a picture that I took - we happily managed to be there when they were giving artists' talks, so the picture is of the artist, Simon Strong, with one of his works. Showing at the Australian Centre for Photography, Phantasia exhibit - which was cool - using photography to create fantastical/fantasy scenes, very interesting.

Campus Sunset

Yup, this is my campus at sunset. I like having palm trees on campus, it seems so exotic. Especially coming from Pittsburgh.

Daybreak

Wah! The internet troubles continue. Well, here, have a picture. I had a great weekend, went to the Acoustica Festival, and saw an awesome band, The Bakery. You can check out their music at that website.
