Hey All, my real name is Dave, and I originally joined theO as a wallpaper maker, but now I've been more focused on fan art and improving my work. I've been a member for about 10 years now, including various name changes lol.
As for my anime tastes, I'm a huge fan of sci-fi, action/shounen, and mecha. My first ever complete manga series was Love Hina, which I still rank as my favorite, and its also what pushed me to draw more. Akamatsu-sensei's Negima is also highly ranked on my list and also acts as a source of inspiration (although I prefer his style from Volumes 13 & 14 of Love Hina a little more lol).
Currently, I'm reading Bleach and UQ Holder!. I haven't been following much anime that's been airing lately since most of it is seemingly loli fanservice-type shows. I try and follow any Gundam series that I can, and I was actually impressed with the Build Fighters series; it focuses more on camaraderies and rivalries that are surprisingly well written. It's pretty childish, but I get a kick out of all the easter eggs hidden within it. I also own a variety of Miyazaki's movies due to their charm and underlying messages about our world and the environment.
I also game a little bit when I'm not drawing or at work/school; I mainly play RPGs and fighters, but I have dabbled into 3rd person shooters (Vanquish, Crysis series), some action adventure games, and racing (Gran Turismo 5). I also enjoy RTSs, but I pretty much only play Starcraft II on and off.
As for school/employment, I am currently employed with the electronics retailer The Source up in Canada, and I'm attending college to become a Medical Lab Technician. I'll be done around October 2015, then I can work in any diagnostic lab/hospital to help diagnose diseases!

Well, the chatroom was really busy last night, almost to the point where my low power processing brain could barely keep up. According to HIME (Kastom), I'm moderately Keitaro from Love Hina, and according to the other members present, I am sexless/genderless, due to my lack of a fantasy pairing...Guess I'll have to find one to rectify that, but no one character particuarily stands out in my head.
Now, does anyone know where I could get the ToS OVA? I need some source material to make HIME a Sheena wall, and google only goes so far. Any suggestions are appreciated. I may also be thinking of starting a requests service thingy, since I was asked to make a drawing for someone else on the site, and it was well recieved, I wouldn't mind trying again. In any case, I must to work now.
Hey all. Hope everyone had a good weekend. I was spoiled during mine, having home cooked goodies and trying ribs for the first time (they were good, but home made ribs would have been a better idea. Nice try Kelsey's!). I wound up going to the Canadian War museum, and it was educational. I haven't studied history in almost 4 years, so it was a nice refresher. What we didn't realize is that the place closed at 5PM, and before we knew it, they warned us we only had ten minutes left, so we missed about 1/3 of the museum. Guess I'll catch it on my next visit.
And I'll be able to enter the chatroom (with this account anyway) on Thursday if my math is right. I'll try a little glitch I found first to see if I can sneak in earlier though
I also listened to my first theO podcast yesterday. I found it comical that SE sewed some other company for copyright infringement
Anyway, I'm off to work on some requests I have to do, but before I go, for the 00 fans who visit, WHAT THE HELL DID THEY DO TO MY MASURAO!!!!?

Hey all. I will be going a little of a hiatus this weekend, as I will be going home to visit the fanily, and probably won't have time for theO. The train ride might give me time to think why theO has been denying me some of my submissions (well, a couple of 'em I could understand, I was a little sloppy), but in any case, I is ranting too much now. And next week I'll be "old" enough for the chatroom, so I'll give that a shot.
GOOD MORNING! (Or good evening due to time zones, isn't time travel cool?) So I actually had quite alot of fun yesterday, since I think I broke theO's submission system, and my work was actually viewable BEFORE it was approved (found this out because there were already comments 5min after submittal), but wasn't in my portfolio yet. Anyhoo, I made two new friends, and one of my characters has his first fan! We pretty much had dicussions in the comments section of the works I submitted, so the chatroom can eat it's heart out until I'm old enough to get in (only another week now, doesn't feel like I've been here for three weeks).
Now, to the actual title of this post. I wanted to look at this site's artists (I recognized a few names), and found a ranking thingy, and found out that I'm TWENTY SECOND on this site!?
So that was surprising, now I feel like I should keep working at it and try to steal that top spot (Kastom, this reminds me of you when you were going for most articles). And thanks to the attention my sketches have been getting, I've decided to post more along with walls, so I'll probably more stuff will go up more often, hopefully.

Hope everyone had a fine weekend, mine was alright, although this post will actuially begin telling a story of Thursday. The PhD student I'm helping an I were in at work from 9AM to 7:30PM on Thurday, due to a protein extraction taking longer than planned. Then I realized "Oh crap, hope no one locked me outta the office." We check, and the door's locked, so I try every key I can find (except one, you can see where this is going), but nothing. So I called co-workers to see if there was a spare key, but to no aveil. SO I had to borrow my co-worker's jacket liner so I wouldn't freeze on my way home. Then next day, I found out that the one key I didn't try DID open da office from another co-worker, and she poked fun at the me that morning. We then followed up with tubing, a fondue dinner at another co-worker's place (met her genious-pimp cat VODKA), then watched the UFC (for FREE, thank you sportsnet!) on Saturday. So I guess all that good stuff amde up for the locked-out-ness and ridicule.
