Hey All, my real name is Dave, and I originally joined theO as a wallpaper maker, but now I've been more focused on fan art and improving my work. I've been a member for about 10 years now, including various name changes lol.

As for my anime tastes, I'm a huge fan of sci-fi, action/shounen, and mecha. My first ever complete manga series was Love Hina, which I still rank as my favorite, and its also what pushed me to draw more. Akamatsu-sensei's Negima is also highly ranked on my list and also acts as a source of inspiration (although I prefer his style from Volumes 13 & 14 of Love Hina a little more lol).

Currently, I'm reading Bleach and UQ Holder!. I haven't been following much anime that's been airing lately since most of it is seemingly loli fanservice-type shows. I try and follow any Gundam series that I can, and I was actually impressed with the Build Fighters series; it focuses more on camaraderies and rivalries that are surprisingly well written. It's pretty childish, but I get a kick out of all the easter eggs hidden within it. I also own a variety of Miyazaki's movies due to their charm and underlying messages about our world and the environment.

I also game a little bit when I'm not drawing or at work/school; I mainly play RPGs and fighters, but I have dabbled into 3rd person shooters (Vanquish, Crysis series), some action adventure games, and racing (Gran Turismo 5). I also enjoy RTSs, but I pretty much only play Starcraft II on and off.

As for school/employment, I am currently employed with the electronics retailer The Source up in Canada, and I'm attending college to become a Medical Lab Technician. I'll be done around October 2015, then I can work in any diagnostic lab/hospital to help diagnose diseases!

Cheers,

Hell Week Begins

Well, it has finally arrived; something us students have termed "Hell Week"...If you guess midterms, then you hit the nail on the head! I'd give you a cupcake, but, you know, kinda hard to break down a cupcake to data, e-mail it to you, and then have it come back to physical from. This is the best I can do:

However, I should still be able to come on and do my daily rounds in the comments section; so why did I even bother with the schpeal above? Don't ask questions you, this is my blog! Plus this would have been a much shorter post if I didn't include it. Oh, and I told someone that I'd try to post artwork every week, but that's easier said than done apparently. However, to make up for my submission-less weeke last week, I made a wall to go along with the sketches. Anyhoo, time to get to class in suit, and go take some interviews!

I Has A Little More Time Now

Well, it took three weeks, but looks like I've figured out my schedule (and finished reading a manga) that I'll be back on the site sorta regularily again. However, submissions might be a little scarce, but I'll try.

P.S. lol, started watching Gurren Lagann, and I realized during the sceond episode that Kamina's design remsembles that of a classic yakuza.

Absent Much?

LOL, so I just realized I haven't really done anything on the site lately. Well, school's back in, so I may only get a chance to do stuff on weekends. I'll get my stuff organized and see what I can do; so, I'll be on temporary hiatus (not that anyone will notice anyway, lol).

Models

Well, remember that great anime shop I found in Montreal? (Sci-fi Anime) I also mentioned they sell Gundam models...After being heartbroken and finding out the MG Freedom Gundam is outta stock (I have now failed twice to obtain the damn thing), I noticed he had some 00 Raiser's in stock, so I bought one! Its a HG (High Grade) 1/144 version, and its amazingly detailed for a 1/144 scale, with all kinds of articulations. The funniest part is, these don't exist on this side of the ocean yet; the shop keeper orders his stuff straight from Japan! I can't read anything on the box, but it works out.

Started Reading Negima! And New Designs Up

Hey all. So my printer's all ready to go, so those designs I referred to earlier are now up and ready to go! Turns out I was an idiot and just needed to press a button to clear up the problem and scan...But ah well, new ink is always welcome:P I also started reading Negima!, another Ken Akamatsu work, and its a wee bit ecchi for my taste (and on 14 year olds no less), but at least the random comedy outweighs the over-the-top ecchi. I don't know if I'll buy it, partly because its so damn long (20-sum volumes and still counting), and I'll wait to see if its as good as Love Hina (which is doubtful, but it might surprise me).Reading this also seems to have begun to spin the gears in my head for sketching ideas, so hopefully I'll be able to crank more of 'em out.

Also, I'm thinking of starting to add Megaman Zero to my repetoir of wallpaper subject matter. I loved the second one, only played 3 once, and my bother (who is Ushiro on this site by the way, he just made an account, but its mainly to get to my wallpapers:P) just got the fourth one; he also has 1 but haven't gotten around to it due to the 300+km seperation:P Now I just have to find the perfect works for the series for some source material...
