Hey All, my real name is Dave, and I originally joined theO as a wallpaper maker, but now I've been more focused on fan art and improving my work. I've been a member for about 10 years now, including various name changes lol.

As for my anime tastes, I'm a huge fan of sci-fi, action/shounen, and mecha. My first ever complete manga series was Love Hina, which I still rank as my favorite, and its also what pushed me to draw more. Akamatsu-sensei's Negima is also highly ranked on my list and also acts as a source of inspiration (although I prefer his style from Volumes 13 & 14 of Love Hina a little more lol).

Currently, I'm reading Bleach and UQ Holder!. I haven't been following much anime that's been airing lately since most of it is seemingly loli fanservice-type shows. I try and follow any Gundam series that I can, and I was actually impressed with the Build Fighters series; it focuses more on camaraderies and rivalries that are surprisingly well written. It's pretty childish, but I get a kick out of all the easter eggs hidden within it. I also own a variety of Miyazaki's movies due to their charm and underlying messages about our world and the environment.

I also game a little bit when I'm not drawing or at work/school; I mainly play RPGs and fighters, but I have dabbled into 3rd person shooters (Vanquish, Crysis series), some action adventure games, and racing (Gran Turismo 5). I also enjoy RTSs, but I pretty much only play Starcraft II on and off.

As for school/employment, I am currently employed with the electronics retailer The Source up in Canada, and I'm attending college to become a Medical Lab Technician. I'll be done around October 2015, then I can work in any diagnostic lab/hospital to help diagnose diseases!

Away from my Stuff @[email protected]

So I'm away on placement in a different city until next Friday, which is why my weekly submission has been delayed :( But it's gonna be a large beach project, so stay tuned!

Hey All!

Been almost a year since I posted here lol I usually give status updates in my art submissions now, so that's probably why. Entrance Exams & Friendships

Hey All,

I figured I should post this now before I get too hard into studying :P I won't be putting up any artwork til about mid-February, since all my drawing time has been converted to study time :( I applied to college (again) in the hopes of doing a career switch. My University degree isn't worth much sadly since science funding has been cut so bad in Canada jobs are hard to come by; I also realized I don't really like research lol So I applied to a Radiation Medicine program and a Veterinary Technician program. I'm alot more fond of actually working with people or animals, and diagnostic imagine can be interesting an fun. Sadly these programs are highly competitive, so there's an entrance exam to thin the application crowd. It's mostly high school science and reading comprehension, but I was terrible at Physics so that's been a large focus!

I mentioned this in one of my drawing back in October, but the mother of the girl I was seeing lost a battle with cancer on October 14th of 2015. She took it really hard, and was left confused, anxious and kinda lost. She didn't think it was fair to either of us to keep going since she no longer knew what she wanted, so that was it sadly. She had a bit of a drinking problem after that too, but as of January she's been sober thankfully. I had gone through therapy for my sleep disorder, so I was able to coach her through it, and her friends stopped going to bars and having drinking parties; instead they stayed in and played board games, and even went bowling one night :P I'm happy to say we're still friends, and once she's moved into her new condo we might have a drawing party! She started doodling herself, says it helps with her anxiety, so I'm happy I had a bit of an influence in stress relief on her with my artwork :P

I recently started meeting new people, and even went on a few dates too! Sadly nothing has come of it yet, I've met some kinda crazy clingy girls, and some who say one thing but mean another. I'm just gonna stick to studying, working and drawing for now I guess :P

On Hold and New Pad

Hi All!

Figured I should write an update since I've kinda not been submitting anything the past month. I'm now working full-time for Rogers Communications up in Canada, and I rarely get two straight days off. So it's been hard getting any drawing in since I'm usually busy, gone out, or simply too tired on my days off lol. I also just moved into a 1 bedroom apartment last week, and I just finished unpacking. Now I kinda have a routine established, so hopefully I'll be able to get back to my regular submission schedule.

The girl I've been seeing is also hella busy too, pushing 50-60 hours per week at work. We try to talk at least once a week, but things are kinda on hold between us until the season settles down and she's back to a more regular schedule. Kinda sucks, but at least we've talked it out and she hasn't randomly dropped me like the previous girl I was pursuing lol.

My new job is working out so far, everyone I work with is nice, kinda quirky, and overall entertaining! There's never a dull moment :P

Hazel Eyes and Mocha Dogs

Hey All!

Figured I should post an update since my last one was a little depressing! Well, this will start off depressing but lightens up, I assure you!

Firstly, the college I was attending was shut down by the Canadian government on February 19th; it was owned by Corinthian colleges in the states, but they were caught with fraud, owed the US government alot of money, and so Canada wanted nothing to do with them. The problem is the Ministry of Education just shut them down on a whim, with no plan in place to train out the now schooless students! Still waiting to here where I'll be able to finish my program... Work has fallen apart too; my manager is the incarnation of laziness, so I started calling him out on it to try and improve my work environment since he fired the last person keeping him in check (which happened to be my former art critic). That got my hours slashed to 6 hours a week, with a giant steaming pile of bulllshit as the reason. I thought about taking him to the labour board, but the complaints department at head office defends him, and he's an excellent liar/ass-puller. Then I realized being the manager at a retail store with a company that doesn't care about their staff being a much crueler fate, I moved on lol.

I'm currently in the process of being hired elsewhere, so it's all good! I also decided to try online dating with the spare time I now have; it was rough at first, with girls not wanting to talk to you when they find out their taller than you, or just straight up crazy people. I finally lucked out with a little hazel-eyed blonde, whom was featured in my "Small Town in the Big City" submission last week. She's super busy so we don't see each other much, but cell phones/skype/internet help a bit. We check in on each other every day, and so far she's been really sweet and cheerful, and always has an idea for a drawing when I get artist's block lol. My parents don't really like the fact that she has several tattoos and a lip piercing, but they've always been SUPER judgmental and kinda like to judge books by their covers... They haven't even met her yet which makes it all the more terrible! Each of her tattoos has an interesting story behind them, which I find endearing and awesome lol.

The parent's also picked up a Vizsla puppy last Saturday, so my hands have been full ever since! So far she's been good, she loves to sit in my lap when she chews her toys :P She tried to get a hold of my phone the other day, so I try and text people when she's napping now lol. So, despite having nothing but bad luck at school and at work, at least my personal life has gotten better in exchange!
