Here's Lost
Horyuu was alarmed to suddenly hear the deafening winds and the stinging sand.
The moment felt as if he was reliving a day from his childhood.
Was his mind thinking back to 'one of those days'?
But the village he called home wasn't in sight, Horyuu decided that he was the only living soul trapped in the desert.
One of his worst fears, blanking out in Kazoku's arms then waking up almost buried in sand!
"I don't understand. Why'd Kazoku abandon me! Surely someone will notice i'm- No!"
he paused, "I can't panic! I'm a shinobi. I can handle this!"
The best Horyuu could do was smile and laugh, no matter how nervous it sounded.
Eventually, Horyuu gave in to the desert. Falling to his knees he screamed out of frustration, clawing at the sand!
"I give up! This is hopeless!"
Losing all faith in returning home, horyuu pulled his hair and cried out all his rage.
"Why-! I want to get out of this! I'm done," he hollered. "I'm done with this!"
Horyuu released his hair and crashed onto the sand without any restraint.
Only hearing the roaring wind with the sound of his faint breathing.
Every now and then he felt a prickling pain in cheeks and forehead, groaning wearily after each prick.
When the pain finally ceased, Horyuu blinked to a dimmer sun light and voices on the wind.
Whispering words that sounded similar to his name, brief words that left him confused.
"W-wait, W-who? I don't get it!? What are you say-?" horyuu choked at the discovery of three figures in the distance.
At last! he thought, pulling himself up to greet his rescuers! "Hey!" he cheered waving his arms. Horyuu called again, and still no visible response.
The winds may be blocking his cry to the strangers. Slowly trying to get up, horyuu still called out to them. "I'm here!"
It was so hard to stand! It felt as if each time he tried,a great force knocked him down!
"Hang on!" he shouted, pulling himself up to a steady balance. "Hey!" he said once more waving his arms!
"My name is Horyuu! I wa-" The sight of a drifting feather of a bird that had no existence in the desert twirled and swished in the wind.
Even stepping forward in it's reach he couldn't grab ahold of it. Horyuu's hand just seemed to have phased through it!
His eyes caught another that just barely missed his cheek.
One feather after another, they zipped past him and fell to rest on the sand below him. Trampling over them as he spun to catch one, Horyuu almost swore he
could feel the indiviual feathers as he stepped on them.
Dizzily, horyuu reached down for one of the silky fallen feathers. Suddenly without warning, his foot slipped and tripped him onto the pile of limitless feathers.
Their caress felt softer than any before and suddenly he blinked to find himself in darkness!
No longer did the deafening winds tangle his hair and tossed the mysterious feathers. No more did he feel the stinging sand cut his face.
Horyuu found that his adventure was merely a dream. He wasn't lost miles out or trapped in an illusion.
But all this time he was lying in darkness.
His eyes that were fixed at the window, Horyuu didn't notice the hand that brushed his bangs out his face. But, his ears listened to comforting words.
"You seem to be recovering." spoke a soft familiar voice. "You should be more careful of yourself. Poor Kazoku dragged you up here..."
Although they chuckled, Horyuu remained motionless with his vision fixed still on the town outside.
Horyuu too bewildered by his dream to even listen, too busy asking himself what it meant. Lost in the desert, three unfamiliar figures, and the enchanting feathers.
Yet, calmer voice that muttered their words in almost a hush interrupted his thoughts. "He's relentless. Horyuu can't attain his desired results with his normal training."
Weird, yeah. I barely went over this.
Okay. Two times tops.
But I corrected most spelling errors and maybe there are still grammar mistakes to be pointed out.
But this piece was remodeled after an earlier version of this story...
